8v8 is basically dead outside of Eu Prime, we've mostly stopped forming groups the rest of the day because of what you've experienced. Just too much roaming not enough fights.

Also the prime time window is getting smaller and smaller, we were joking today about how it'll soon just be called the "prime hour". We're probably going to start forming closer to 21:00 cet now since when we build at 19:30 there's just not much to fight.

We can find things out during NA PST time but it's becoming harder and harder to find/fill groups and when we do it's likely a countryside tour with nobody out - or just a few groups too small for a good fight.

This has led to me logging in less and less - thus giving other people one less person to fight and realmies to fill groups with.

It's not entirely dead, it's just so erratic you never know if you'll find a good fight or roam around for almost two hours finding nothing.

Also, check out on IRC if you regularly run groups during NA time. I know a bunch of us will hop on and at least mention that we're out/looking for action - hopefully we can end up in the same frontier and actually fight instead of roaming around.

The issue with "always Emain" is sometimes there is actual action in other realms for whatever reason - be it a BG or fights around an XP spot.

Maybe plan a particular 'fight night' to see if people show up?

Like Budikah said, communication with the other realms (obviously keeping within Uthgard's rules) is getting more and more important. I was roaming with a pug for 2 hours last night, midnight to 2pm EST, and we managed to get pretty good action the whole time against roughly 2 Hib groups and 1 Mid group. I feel it was helped by letting folks now we were out in IRC, but I wasn't getting too much feedback, so maybe not.

I would say anyone who wants to roam (whether with a zerg, full group, or some kind of smallman) past Euro prime time should be active in IRC, and be able to tell folks that they are out and looking for a fight. The devs have mentioned that they'll watch groups run right past each other in a zone, not knowing the other is there, and then complain that RvR is dead. If we're all chatting on IRC, letting each other know roughly where to find the action and saying "gf", that will go a long way to keep RvR in NA time fun, even with the decreased population.

I think I remember the rule being something like, you can tell others you're in Emain, but you can't be more specific, like telling other groups to fight you at AMG. It would be really good if, following those guidelines, soloers, smallmans, and 8v8 groups would all be willing to chat and loosely coordinate in IRC. I'll refrain from any kind of RvR chat with opposing realms in third party programs, like Discord, just to stay of the safe side, with devs

There is no simple way to have IRC fed into Discord otherwise I'd set something up and use Discord. It's possible, you just need to go through and setup your own bot system.

IRC is easy though. Click the button on the Uth page, use a name, hop in and say 'anyone out? My group will be in Hib frontier looking for fights'.

You don't really need to tell anybody specifics. The frontiers are small enough that two people looking for a fight should find each other easily. Even knowing others are out looking for you it's still entirely possible to get a good swoop on somebody as well.

Somebody else suggested it was arranging fights - I see it more as arranging our time so we don't waste 10-16 people's time running around in circles for hours before people log off in frustration.

Yeah. Discords ok, but you end up with 500 different discord channels for various different groups. IRC is a 'single point' and easy but just lacks a number of great features. (Decent mobile apps, persistent storage of chat within the platform, push alerts, etc, etc).

I'm allll for organising time better across realms without going as far as to arrange fights in secluded spots for the purpose of RP farming.

The more the RvR pop can communicate to drive action the better. (Obviously within the rules)

I can set u up a discord integration
to push the public IRC to discord channels if you like? That could be useful thinking about it. Let's anybody notify in IRC and have that pushed out to various channels and groups even if they are not actively on at that time....

Most people I play with do all of the above but ultimately I find 8vX or smallman play the most fun. Keeps are incredibly frustrating to fight in/around due to LoS issues and Archers with arrows that phase through everything. Some nights people just want some good fights - it takes patience and skill and is quite intense. PvE against an empty keep works sometimes, but you can't expect everyone to be involved.

There used to be an Albion RvR channel, it might be possible now that the population is lower to really get everyone under one roof if it's well setup and managed. Particularly making sure there are rules set so that people don't abuse the hell out of it. I also considered something like a "fight night" where maybe we can get some groups back in for RvR one night a week specifically so we know we aren't just forming up to run into an empty frontier.

I'll toss the idea around and I'll get back to you.

unfortunately staying in emain isnt possible with the current numbers, usually only 1 or 2 8 mans out at a given time... so ur left to chase the action of the 2-3g keep busters and hope to run into said 8man(s) while doing that also

a big part of the issue we have sometimes is also the routes groups take to get out, we run the road, 100% of the time but miss a lot of groups running out on the zonewall or whatever ;/

Yea this ****** is crazy. I just cannot wrap my head around how much the population has just dropped to just a crazy ridiculous low number, especially the times I log into now since I work 60-70 hours a week. I find it almost pointless to log in cause by the time I do, there's literally NOTHING out anywhere.

I remember when you had to wait 2-3 hours to even log in. At one point there were 5000 people trying to get on Uthgard. NOW, as I'm logged in I just did a /who all and theres literally only 70 people on in my realm. ****** just boggles my damn mind how the population goes from thousands to hundreds in months. And P.S. It F'ing sucks

Been running PUGs on alb NA from 11pm-1/2am EST and we usually find 1 hib group and 1-3 mid groups who seem to like to zerg keeps. Last night Arsenal was taking keeps and zerged us down, then logged off or did something else. It was kind of a stupid way for them to squash whatever action we were trying to bring them, because they prob could have gone for a relic but to each their own. And if not clear enough already:
