I played DAOC for 6 years since release then moved on to other games but recently came back. I never have that pounding in my chest in any of the other MMO's I've played like I do seeing a Solo Alb or Hib headed my way

Or is this just a stealther thing? The element of surprise gets your heart racing?

Good thing my Doc says my heart is healthy or I would wonder if it was a heart attack I still have a couple years to hit the magic 50 but MAN the racing makes you feel like WHAT THE..........

A DAoC raid without at least three heartattack deaths is considered a dull affair.

Before you start rvr, take a good look at Jessica Alba pictures.

I had a 1on1 the other day where my hands were shaking afterwards...

That's why I keep coming back to solo. The rush is addictive. I've tried zerging, 8 man, small man, duo over the years, but none of them get me to the near heart attack state you described like soloing does.

If you did kick the bucket from a daoc induced heart attack at least you could say you died doing what you loved.

lol i am 51 and had one of those a week ago, but most of the time anymore it's doesn't happen! now it's just shoot shoot and i die!

the rush comes mostly from the slow pace of the game. Its like fishing nothing happen for a long time and then you get some action.

I used to solo a LOT with a shami 48 augm on Uth 1.0 just because inflicting a slow death to enemies was more fun and a bit more challenging.

Soloing is cool and thrilling and no you're never too old for Daoc.

You might be too old for Jessica Alba though. But don't worry you can still have Monica Bellucci.

Actually I think Harkon was the living proof you can be really old and play daoc just fine .
Sure, there also seemed to be the risk of a sudden heart attack, but for a completely different reason.
