Disclaimer: this is by no means a topic to spread salt, whine or complain about the playerbase on the Green realm I am genuinely curious about some of the reasons why hib-players chose to play on Hib
So from my point of view, Hib is the only realm I never really played much. I tried classes like the Banshee, Vampiir, and Animist on live during the years but only as side project and never managed to stick it out. And when I heard about Uthgard 2.0 the choise for me was easily split between Alb or Mid, and Hib was never a temptation. I dont even bother to check the statistics, hib is the underdog realm on here, and have been for a while however they seem to do farely well in RvR and from the outside it sounds like their teamwork and alliances could be the mainfactor why the realm is so succesful. Looking at the patchlevel and the tools they have at their disposal, Animist for keep defence and farming, stuff like baseline stun and debuff assist nukes for kitegroups, not to mention the naturalist heavy melee-groups with instant rupts and tunnelvision assiting you down, heck even some bombers are being succesful on Hib ![]() "Why is hib the underdog realm and not the more appealing choise for players when they chose side, how did Hib become the last choise when players chose realm?" So Uthgard, why did or didnt you, chose to play on Hib? <<Bombling>> - Supp SM Lvl 50 - RR 7L0

Hib is home for me, i chose alb here for a change up.
To be fair i wasnt aware of all the odds and ends with patch 1.65 when i picked or i woulda chose differently. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk |

I think hib is a middle thing. In this patch, not to bad not to good. That's why its not so appealing.
Mid most easy overall pve/rvr wise. Alb most rewarding and strongest rvr wise, but hardest. And hib is in between them. Why hib is so successful on uthgard? There is a positive wibe there among players. I seen it in mid to, but not on alb here. |

I wouldn't see alb as hardest realm...... not with this kind of ra's at this patchlevel. ![]() Fataler Zipfelklatscher <NightWatch>

I think this is pretty much the same for me. I came in completly unaware of how this patchlevel was, no level 50 experience (can read my noobquestions in the wizard sub forum lol) had I known about the difference in the used RAs between the realms, I would probably be maining a lurikeen enchanter called Charlie-keen or something silly. So RA is one reason to pick one realm over an other, anyone picked because of the lore connected to a realm? playstyle? or maybe even to fight some old rivals who had stated they would roll on Alb/Mid at launch? <<Bombling>> - Supp SM Lvl 50 - RR 7L0

For me it was a fairly simple choice...
I had played Mid for 10+ years, and while I started there it quickly became obvious to me I would not enjoy doing it again and that Mids would dominate making finding enemies hard. So moved to Hibernia, but despite reaching lvl 45 I was so bored by how the classes play. It all feels to polished and streamlined, I don't want to say "easy" because DaoC is not easy. But it all just felt to comfortable, really hard to define it any clearer... So went to Albion, and while I hate how hard it is to form anything here (last night my friar was solo healer in 6-8 man group for 2-3 hours), I like how the classes are designed. Groups feels a lot more "classic" when you run with a scout, a smite cleric, and such. Edit: What I don't like is how this "clonky" group experience means people level using necroes, and when they reach lvl 50 they make a new character when they discover how hard it is to form groups. Albion and having fun

I have been playing Hib since the very beginning (day1 of official italian server), and we all have great memories of that period of time. Sadly, now that we've grown older and we know the game inside out, we know that some realms have better starts than others. In this patchlevel Hib needs a lot of realm ranks to be competitive and keep up with the incredible power unleashed from the other realms. Right after the reset the mids were the most successful, and as caster groups we just didn't have the tools to answer their reckless pushing groups. Same applies for albs, and despite the lack of endu in most of their groups they surely packed a ****** of utility and magical damage... Not mentioning SOS.
Basically, you choose Hib if you're a masochist. I know I am. *shrugs* |

Hib is a realm of mostly PvE allstars with a couple good 8mans sprinkled in here or there. Its also the realm where zerg guilds are most likely to incorrectly refer to themselves as 8v8 guilds. It's also the realm where you can join Blazed, get PLed to 50, then leave the guild and not know how to play your class because you were being PLed the entire time.

And apparently a guild producing salty people. Albion and having fun

How is hib the pve realm? Even being the smallest realm pop wise, they have consistently put out huge numbers in rvr.
Perhaps its a EU vs NA time, but during NA, hibs usually have the largest active RvR pop. ExDz zerg generally has 3-4 groups with 1-2 groups for astro turfs. Albs for the last 4+ months stuggle to form 1-2 pugs with 2 8 mans, band and behind. Since last stand formed weve gotten 2 groups more frequently with 3 groups once or twice a week. Mids have good men 8 man....and thats it. Funny how that works. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk |

We have decent alliances, many active US players so we can cover all time zones, some good rvr guilds and ofc shrooms. At the moment it ´s not so bad being a hib. Powerleveling is not as much a problem like in the undead necro realm Albion. We have petpull groups too, but also tank grps where stealthers get their place in. Hib is likely a mix between the realms, it ´s nothing special but somehow solid at the moment. |

Stun nuke, Self buffs(Ranger, Nightshade, warden), 3 healing classes, and Shrooms!
that's all you have to say! |

I was a mid on uth 1. Mid is my fave realm in terms of classes and zones. My guild chose hib this time around, so I followed them.
Honestly though, I am glad we are. Our people are largely wonderful. They have to work harder to win in RvR due to lack of tanks and bards. I can say my experience with EU time on hib hasn't been great and I avoid playing then. The reason we have such a massive NA RvR pop is because we have a HUGE alliance that is almost the entire realm following some really great leaders. We all just have a lot of fun together. Normally (speaking about NA time) it is really laid back, and we just like doing crazy ****** together more than we care about winning. Bring your lowest expectations and your sense of adventure!

From alb perspective i can agree. Hib NA has their ****** together. Lots of mid to high realm rank, well balanced groups that work well with each other. Alb was at a huge loss when we lost poler and spitquick as active players. Moral across the realm was at an all time low. Last night we couldnt fill 2 groups to defend a relic keep. Even the 8 mans couldnt be bothered to leave emain. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk |
