Well if you ignore the same problems for years and years and years you will have more and more complaints and demands growing each day.
There's no need to point a finger at us here, all we want is to have a better gameplay environment, for good reason.

Vagonaj gave the first very neutral view on balancing and additional custom features. Acceptance towards possible custom content as long as it does not affect game mechanics. Implement it the way it was back on live servers in the old times (without obvious bugs e.g. wrong dmg-table svg). See how it works and then eventually adjust, but not simply adjust it in a way that best fits your own purpose/opinion because you believe to inherit the one and only salvation for this server.

PS.: An unbiased opinion does not exist. Same goes for your wanted balance in a setting that Uthgard is heading for. A true balance may only be achieved by offering every realm the same skills and possibilities just as it almost is on todays official DAoC servers - but that's not what Uthgard is heading for.
Eh, I already mentioned the exact same things he did, before he did. Selective reading ftw.
And an unbiased opinion exists, and mine definitely is unbiased because I love daoc and I love playing every class in it, and that's why I'd like to see every class working properly and being useful. I don't look for 1 class or 1 realm to have the upper hand because I play all 3 and I'd play any class given the chance that they were actually useful and wanted in groups. This way to lead the topic isn't really what I expected.
I would be really proud if : Nixian, Sethor, Toblerone & Zarkor could discuss about that on IRC in a private channel, to let the other show their opinion in a decent way without being under fire on every thing they can say, just because you each want to be right about that.
