Every class that has stoicism now, had the option to spec det in the old RA system. That includes armsman, merc, hero, bm, warrior, zerker and savage.
No, when you get cced under old sos effect you can't attack but you can still move around. I'm fine with new RA's, I voted against old RA's some time ago. However if you decide to implement old RA's I won't mind as long as you don't customize stuff like timers and the choice of RA's available to each class (e.g. giving det to hybrids, setting a lower timer for purge etc.). The world will look up and shout "Save us!"...and I'll whisper "NO U."

lol even the title of this thread is a punch in the face of every single player from the hundreds of recent posts against the new rvr new system.
150% horse speed wont change anything, it still takes to long to find incs. good that every zerg has its speedclass. ![]() |

siegemaster, there is no "new" RvR system. There was a minor change to it. Camps were not a RvR system, they were an intermediate solution.

maybe it was a small change in terms of code, but it had a big bad impact on the rvr, as we all know.
i call it new system, because it totally changed the rvr dynamics to the worse. |

I agree that casters/supps need some kind of boost, but also think that OF ras will bring us a lot of bugs cause there is no way to test them. Why not include just mastery of art and change ethereal bond to give a % of mana pool? I know this wouldn't be live like but in my opinion is an easy way of balancing classes without having to implement toa bonus.
offtopic: You should also implement cure ns, I know this is pre 1.80, but in live supports had cure ns with mls. |

Casters and support need a boost? /laugh What server do you play on? Cant just ask for a boost with no reason behind it. Mages and healers were not the godlike characters in classic as they now are on live.

I really don't understand this move at ALL. My reasoning is quite simple: in the current state of things, we basically have a Realm v Realm game where almost no one is RvRing. Hyperbole and angry debates and justifications don't change the facts--just check the numbers for LWKSRPS--almost no one is getting Rps of any substantial amount, which means that other than an occassional 8v8 encounter in front of a keep every 20 minutes, or minor flare-up in DF, basically nothing is happening.
While debating about what is already done is not going to change the immediate state of affairs in RvR, the idea of going even further back to original RAs feels, quite frankly, like a bit of a desperate move to find a cure-all for the current situation. Honestly, aren't these the same kind of sudden, broad and sweeping changes that got us, at least partially, to where we are now?? How EXACTLY is bringing back this old RA system going to magically bring people out to RvR?? This is assuming, of course, that the focus of the devs is to create a server with a vibrant RvR population, not just an experiment or PvE/Social server? Please don't make the mistake of finding yourself in a hole, and instead of backing out, digging more desperately in the same direction in hopes of getting to the "other side". By this I mean a sudden, big change followed by another change to correct the first ones. The live servers demonstrated this perfectly with the Epic Cycle of the FOTM and Nerf we saw played out liteally hundreds of times. A move like this is opening a can of worms a thousand-fold more complex and unmanageable that will only further confuse and alienate many of your players when they realize what these changes REALLY mean. When we already have unfinished classes, balance issues, obvious bugs, how is a complete revamp of a HUGE portion of the server mechanics goind to make things suddenly, magically better?? This feels more like an idea based on romanticized nostalgia, rather than a well thought-out solution to some obvious issues. The time would be MUCH better spent working out existing kinks than creating new ones. Sure, the old system was flawed, but at least it worked in a pragmatic sense in that people came out to participate, rather than just grind levels to get to 50 and then go /cheer /qtd "I won DaoC!" Somehow, I don't imagine your goal for this server was to be Gaheris II, the US PvE server... Please think this out VERY carefully!~ We come here to discuss because we CARE and appreciate all of your hard work, please continue to make good decisions that keep that work vibrant and alive.
