Maybe they did not anticipate 3000 issues being found and submitted to the bug tracker (mind you there are a number of Invalids) even before most people got to 50 to test out large scale RvR or higher level content.

I hope it is not a situation where people were excited about the new classic server start, tried it out, and realized they really didn't like it an are gone for good. <99 people on when I play is no bueno.

just to get a perspective on the numbers:
- 2298 issues on the tracker as of now
- 511 of these are invalid
- 165 are duplicate
- 657 are resolved

that would leaves us with 965 issues to fix, quite a number of the 'new' ones (647) might still end up as duplicate or invalid ... judging from exisiting numbers about a quarter ... or even more because some of them have no confirmations for ages

so that woul leave us with about 800 issues, seems about 50/50 worldbuild and gamemechanic ... I guess a lot of the worldbuild (quests) stuff could still be fixed when the server is live, less staff members are able to fix gamemechanic stuff anyway, so that would be the key factor for when Uthgard can go live

cheers

I marked my old old worldbuild/mob bugs invalid recently since so much got fixed that they would need to be rechecked anyway. Might help clean up the quee abit

I think what a lot of us would dearly love (a little presumptuous but roll with it) is just an update on where the devs are with i30. If they expect i50 to be another month away so be it but a smidgen of information would be gratefully received.

We are still getting back to speed after having been on vacation. We will let everyone know when i50 is introduced etc.
Got any questions? Submit them to me and I will try to get them answered in our grab bag !

No, there is no eta at this point. If we had an eta you would know it as well.

I think it would be best to have a push for the I50 or either just a clean roll since we are starting to loose people who are not playing due to the fact the server population has died drastically.

It would be nice to have the option but I feel it's kinda a waste since most folks now are just doing tradeskills or trying to farm items since the i30 bg rush is dead and now the gap between 40-50 is dead.

A lot of people were interested in the beginning, you could see it from the numbers but the interest and hype has gone away since it takes ages. I still don't know why it takes so long, Uthgard 1 worked for so many years and the situation now made me believe the whole game was completely broken. Anyway, I think now where the mass of testers are gone and only the few very dedicated testing people are left, I am not sure what we are waiting for, for an i50.

I agree, I appreciate it's a lot of work and all the GM's are doing this in their spare time however it feels like we're working towards absolute perfection in all regards.

I don't thin many will begrudge for example an Arachite drop at lvl 18 having no value to sell to a NPC for the first few weeks, months...

I'd much rather have a few buggy loot tables on the lower tier mobs than strive for perfection while the community and player base disperse in the droves.

Again thanks for all you do and perhaps I am wrong but that is my 2 cents.

The issue is more likely the amount of time it takes to fix actual bugs in the code versus world build (which would be stuff like loot). Uthgard never really had a lot of "core" developers that could tackle complex coding projects. So I assume that this is the rate limiting factor at the moment. No point moving the beta to the next stage if they know that one or several RvR related aspects are badly broken or if they still have non-RvR related tasks to complete. Remember, this is about helping them getting the server ready. It is not about moving the beta along at a pace that pleases the players, as much as that sucks to accept as a player.
