All good news.

I have tried to get my kid and grand daughter into the game. Mainly my Grand Daughter who loves her LoL.
Starter chat can be quite toxic at times. So we/ I have to test the waters before asking them to play and have to pick our play times. Lol she is 14 so not the tenderest ears by any means, but some of the stuff guys type is ridiculous. It is mainly the burst garbage when the teens are trying to one up each other on shock that gets tiring.

What has that to do with housing? We said from the beginning that housing will remain customized on Uthgard. A reason is that housing was introduced in 1.63, just 3 months before ToA. We have choosen 1.65 as target because we assume that Mythic had enough time to balance the game vs. new SI classes until then and its the latest patch right before ToA. Classic era is not considered to be what was active for only 3 months right before ToA. Thats the reason why we take the right to keep housing customized and fit it into the classic spirit of the game. Hope you understand.

but SI is often considered "classic spirit", and they had all the crafting stuff in their cities.

Keep in mind that a Hib is the most RVR'd realm due to the terrian, mobs, and color schemes (starting at mid makes you snowblind). That's why emain was always "the place to be". This makes hibs more likely to be ganked than other realms, since people are already over here to rvr anyways.

Look, if you guys just like it, than fine, but please don't pretend it's to add a classic feel to the game, because trust me, playing from day 1, it doesn't really feel very classic, just frustrating.

Just going to quickly add my 2 cents: the custom change to housing merchants is a bad decision. Heavily penalizes armorcrafters and weaponsmiths especially for no good reason at all.

Either reverse this decision or put top tier merchants in the cities if you're so hung up on them not being underpopulated by crafters. Making people lug bars all the way from the frontiers because there's no forge out there is just dumb, especially when full materials merchants in housing was very much a part of your target patch.

Our goal is to launch with as few custom features as possible. After release, if the situation calls for it, we may introduce small non-gameplay influencing custom features. Do not expect any custom features that would effect balance in the slightest way. The few custom features we do have are things like slightly more advanced housing options compared to what existed in 1.65.

Apparently making housing worse is an "advanced housing option."

heck at this point I'd settle for a forge inside the keep or something just so that I don't have the run there and back so often

Is a bit rough for hibernia crafters to have to go there every time, considering their frontier zone is playground for 90% RvR.

I thought you at this patch level could buy the mats in Gna Faste, Innis etc...?

Housing crafting merchants
We have decided to implement the crafting merchants in housing, however to avoid the cities being abandoned, and to ensure that there is a large incentive to be active in RvR, we have decided to only implement the merchants that are currently available in the cities. (This means the highest tiers of crafting materials are still only available in relic keeps and the outer crafting keeps for each realm except for alchemy and spellcrafting).

There are more than 4k people online during primetime - and you argue that you dont give us that QoL-feature because you are afraid that not enough people will be active in realm defense? :gaga:

Don't argue with idiots - they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Correct, and because of SI Zones are not in yet they should consider putting the merchants into the capitals.

I personally don't care if I get 'farmed' on my way to get materials, you don't get much for a lvl 5 character.

Additional, the statement by Trishin regarding materials for 'alchemy' is fully available in the capitals is not true.

The USAGE. Key word right there. I imagine that the usage refers to connection with UTHGARD and not in general. So if I cheat in fifa I get banned in Uthgard. Makes sense. Also if you are unable to figure out if 3d party tools on a persons pc are used for uthgard or not, why not make it clear? Make an anouncement on forums or send personal warning. You continue to slander people while providing 0 evidence.

Well considering its a free server and they pretty much can do whatever they want... without due process... I would say dont engage in any activity that looks suspiciously like youre using a 3rd party software. Im sure you could plea your case with a GM if you feel you were wrongfully banned, but they dont have to listen. Its their server, period. They could ban you permanently for not liking the way you dyed your toons armor and there isnt a damn thing anyone could do about it. Usually when it smells like dog poop, looks like dog poop...The way you posted this, using the language you did, any sane person would translate that as: "I got banned because I was cheating, but you didnt have proof I was, so youre wrong for doing it!"

really that merchant patch doesnt help prevent the citys being abandoned. its already really easy to do the lower tiers of crafting. its the final tiers that are a pain in the ass. they should be added to housing or even just somewhere in camelot. want to avoid cap citys being empty add everything we need to them not make it so noone needs to be there besides training.
like really guys? if anything the lowbies that need some starter gear won't be able to ask everyone standing around the forge to help because they are gonna be in their house crafting or in the relic keep crafting. you guys just took out every incentive to be in the cap city now. like i say, add the last tiers merchant to camelot and that will save it instead of kill it

Overall, these changes are good. The higher population really is great, even though it is crowding all the realms. Especially with the lack of mobs at many camps. However this crafting custom change really is pretty bad. Basically you want to be able to farm greys in rvr. That's sad and gonna turn off a lot of people off from the server.

These custom changes, whether you feel they promote rvr, "classic feel" or not, are really going to be the issue to prolonged health of the server, in my eyes. For now, I think most people just like playing on a populated server but over time I could definitely see it causing problems.

Let everyone get high end materials in houseing and capital, and If you are afraid that ppl will abondon the capital for crafting in houseing, just increase crafting speed while in capital.

I understand what you just said.... bend over all weapons, armor, fletching crafters and take it up the poop shoot with no lube... and our gankers at your frontier keeps will love the free rps we keep making off of them.

I can tell you admins dont know a darn thing about crafting and worry about one thing only... 8v8.. because you make sure to stress dont worry 8v8 you can craft your potions in the houses so you can get your stuff with no troubles....

Ohh and with this change its just much easier for my main to get the top tier mats for the rest of my craftrs and dump them in my house vault (why would i run a level 5 hero out for mats) so its then accessible to my alt crafters?

So I wont be near the city at all after 500 crafting... so your plan doesnt work other then to feed the albs and mids free rps which is the most inane idea I have ever heard.. that is unless you all have friends or yourself like to camp portal keeps for those trying to do high level mat runs.
