Since it sounds like these two patches are kind of hanging together, can you then give us an estimate on when we can expect this second patch? 1 day, 1 month or maybe a full year? If the patches are overlapping in any way, i think second patch should follow quite shortly after the first.. |

Hope you adjust relics in the second patch. 20%bonus for any realm is just too much. |

I can tell you for sure that relics are not part of the upcoming changes. Its your realms responsibility to get relics back and not just accept it as it is. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

The reason the patch was 'split into two' is because it's quite a few changes to place into one news post. We are also making final adjustments to other changes coming.
We will continue to monitor any changes we make incase they need to be adjusted slightly. People coming together as a community can make great things happen.

While /xp off deserve a spot among the commands since it just avoid people to suicide several times to lose xp (which doesn't really add much to the vision of the game..), on the other hand /rp off does change a lot the endgame panorama, since it actually adds a sort of "new endgame" creating an alternative ecosystem among the server, because it let you play bg forever. And this is something i'm kinda sure Staff doesn't want to, even if i had hell of fun doing it on another known server and i would enjoy it again. @BG-bind-issue: Putting a limit of an arbitrary amount is too simple and mostly annoying.. There is already a mechanic in place which is the death sickness, which will slow down the insta-spawn people from going out and repeatly die like lemmings ![]() The only thing that not having bindstones inside bg brings is just more loss of time, which leads to less fun time, which leads to more probability to not come back again, which leads to less enemies/allies to play with, which leads to.... I guess you know what. There was a time when Uthgard 1.0 existed and maaaany toons and arrpees arose... but now:

i really like the changes, but for the AT Classes, i would prefere last BG to 48, and gold in rvr, they said in irc not for ppl who are dead.. but hell 25% should be here too, i mean a lot of caster die in fight.. and still they did a lot and not only die

Please tune down the relics, it was ok on live servers as there were so much more players so every realm had a realistic chance of getting and keeping the relics. Considering the low number of players, while factoring in relic guard strength and the amounts of Bombs,Animists and mana Mentas Hib has makes it incredibly easy to def. It is almost impossible to loose the relics to another realm as a Hib. Relics destroy RvR, zero doubt about it. Despite the QQ I'm still happy for changes, thank you Uthgard staff |

Forgot that earlier, but wanted to focus some attention to this. You still think getting players into the frontier by any means possible makes RvR more interesting and benefits the game. It does not. Please get this. If you implement bonuses for crafting or XP you will not get more quality RvR, you will get more ganking and more RP farming. If you are on the receiving end of this you will not have a quality gaming experience. Which leaves you with the choice of either doing your XPing and crafting in the homezone with a severe disadvantage over players accepting this ordeal or... well... just leaving Uthgard for another game that rewards fun gameplay. Also please consider that a lot of players dont play DAoC primarily for RvR (espacially not all the time), some actually enjoy the laid back PvE and clickfest grindy stupid crafting it offers. Dont try to push those people in an RvR they dont want (at the time) Tree - Animist Lvl 50 (RR 3L0, Legendary Tailor)

Do the people talking about how it's not good for AT classes not understand u can still ding 48 in the BG, just won't be able to continue playing in the BG.
Thanks Uthgard staff! Most excited about RvR gold. Won't be completely broke from making 10000's of end and power pots. I got a little sad when the population dipped below 300 last night. Good news for sure.
Looking forward to staff implementing more mobs for people to xp on in BG. It absolutely essential. I'm curious to see how BG will be with the huge levels gaps--I guess time will tell. Also- hopefully future patch will implement BG bind. I think the majority of the player base would prefer it. And /agree to people saying to raise it past 47 to 48 or 49. So, patch #1 of 2 is to make a few more battlegrounds and increase the XP from players in said battlegrounds. That's a nice change.
However, it is not coincidental that the battlegrounds stop at 47, while most players who use the AT feature don't spec until 48. I know that was done intentionally. Not sure why battlegrounds can't go through 49 if the purpose is to boost the speed of leveling, unless there is some kind of frustration or imbalance that might happen mysteriously at level 48 and 49 because of classes that autotrain. Furthermore, it sure would have been nice that if you hit the RR cap for a BG, you simply stop earning RPs while you can still XP off of players to make the speed of leveling easier and more fun. Instead, if you hit the RR cap, you're right back to the XP PvE grind. If you stopped earning RPs once you reach the cap in a BG but continued to gain XP, you could join at the lowest level and stay through to the highest level and not worry about getting booted out and back to grinding at a PvE spot. I certainly hope there is a lot more changes in patch #2. I believe there are some fundamental problems, but it seems that we are going to get marginal adjustments. Positive marginal adjustments to be sure, but it seems that the staff believes in the game's fundamental mechanics. I hope they are right and I am wrong. I hope that their review of many player suggestion posts combined with their internal discussions and data will lead them to make changes that will improve the server's population levels. |
