Summer Heat - A Look Forward
|
This sounds awfully "whiny"...why take things so personal? Who cares what the reasons are? Who cares if is "genuine"? What does that even mean? It is a change that is quantifiable...the reasons "why" don't really matter, do they? Some of you sound like devs are your ex or something. They are not...lighten up. It's a game, geez. |

I appreciate that decision! |

My highest is RR5 and I do not support a wipe.
For one you have no idea who it hurts/benefits, yes RR11 will lose their char, but those players will be lvl50 while most are still kn 30’s anyway. On the other hand the casuals who just got 50 and templated will not come back. High RR is great, but the main problem is lack of incoming. With more action, doing RA dump means losing next fight 5 mins later. As it is now you might as well RA dump, because the next fight might not even come at all. Tanks need det5 and support MCL 2, purge and maybe class specific RA, but RR4 in most cases is plenty to secure what is needee to compete. People mistake and mix high RR with skill/class experience and having played together as a group from RR1-10. The later can’t be fixed with a wipe. Albion and having fun

costed me over a year to make my 1st 50 char and temp it and you want to wipe it?!?!
don't wait for me if you do it!!! ![]() It's the thrill of the chase
and I'm coming after you. |

I'm normally not one to post stuff like this, but honestly - this whole update seems dishonest and illogical, and this should be obvious.
You have had waaaaay more than enough time to actually make changes that your huge player base asked for, but you insisted that you're following your vision. Now that they all left and there's some better place for them to be - you start to change things? What happened to your vision? You don't see this as totally disrespectful to your player base? If you were going to go with "we stick to our vision and don't care about your opinions" then just stick with it. At least the remaining people on your server will stay there and continue to like your version of DAoC. After the other players have given up asking and went to go make their own server is well....it's a TAD too late to make changes lol. Even if you had everything the other place has to offer I personally would not come back, for the simple reason that the other place has staff that actually listens to player base and doesn't make shady decisions like this. Fixing proven bugs doesn't take a year(4147 lul), it takes a day or two. Overall, you have already deeply established what you're all about - stick with it imo. A museum is good too. realm points for door repairs
Realm points for door repairs, that's all I want!

I spoke to some people who have remained on Uthgard throughout the last month and they all said the same thing when it came to staying - They liked the grind and they liked the classic feel and going in the other direction with easier levelling and dots on maps just didnt appeal to them.
You were damned if you do and damned if you dont but I'd worry if you now risk losing the playerbase who stayed through the rough times in the hopes of enticing back the ones who like pretty shiny things. Realm points for door repairs, that's all I want!

Wow and thanks! Thats are really good news!
Please stay that way now. Ok and now some RVR fun ![]() |

C'mon! They can print out the maps on paper and reset their keyboard key for the ingame map window, then they have what they want. I am very happy to see the position dot again. No more need to do /loc and find out where exactly that is on the map. It would be good to see quest givers close to the own position also on the map. No idea if that is back in also. |

No offense but I have talked to those people too and a majority of them are actually autistic or nolife/retired. Those are not the players you want to base a server around since they like repetition or long tasks that burn the day away. <removed insult> |

Well I dont agree with the way you did this and honestly believe some of the changes will have negative impact, but hey... its something.
Now lets see if there is any quantifiable (haha funny word ![]() Tree - Animist Lvl 50 (RR 3L0, Legendary Tailor)

Reduce relic to 5% each. 10% is too much.

(This is only meant for PvE, not RvR)
The problem is, people don't want to come back to still be unable to find a group because the pop is still low. 50% solo XP is not much at lvl 40 because you are still restricted by downtime. If people come back, they need to be able to believe solo is a viable option for the time being until the population increases. Something like 100-150% increase for solo. The "other server" is around 150% (each egg turn in gives roughly the XP of a yellow mob, and they have increased XP rates, so total xp is about 150% of normal). On top of that, downtime is a fraction of what it is on uthgard. I'm not saying copy it. But it's obvious the system is well received and works. I'm not saying "Oh we got a little, now give more". I just wanted to point out the fundamental flaws with a 50% xp increase with such a low pop. Since groups will be very scarce due to lvl disparity, most people coming back would be stuck soloing. |
|
Got to agree. Some classes are not especially welcome in groups. Some people prefer solo play and thus solo specs. The current alternate to Uth makes solo levelling a lot easier. Being part of an opted group or even a half decent one means xp benefits. Finding a way so solo xp is a choice rather than a disadvantage would be good. Of course the trick is balance but no one said it would be easy ![]() Na Fianna Dragun

Maybe the players can decide whether they want to play "hardmode" vs "easymode". Leveling with /hardmore enabled grants a title they can show off etc. /shrug |
