HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Oh.. never mind on that for a few weeks more ^^

December is up and a lot of stuff are happening within the staff, on the server, and in our community!

This we want to celebrate! So along with our usual Christmas lights and Santa Claus we are also giving you a very special event put together purely made for this special holiday!

More info on that will follow when the event comes closer! :D

For now I want to use this newsflash to tell you a bit about the upcoming changes on Uthgard.

1. Old RAs and 1.69 patch.
2. Keeps, relics, and the general RvR system.
3. Buff barrels / charges
4. BG setup
5. Old RvR dungeons
6. The Behemoth reward
7. Appeals
8. Merchant Explores

Old RAs and patch 1.69

Basically we are almost finished with this, we are just missing a few RAs to be coded and this should be ready to be rolled out to you. For now they come out unaltered. However please report things that are not working either due to bugs or simply because they do not work in our setting. However do not expect that we will take all complaints into consideration and that we will want the system to run for a bit to see what impact it has on RvR before we will even consider altering it.

Keeps, relics and general RvR mechanics

We are currently in the decision of how we want relic keeps, keeps in general and our RvR system to work. A few solution has been brought to the table which we are still discussing.

However we have not yet decided on anything solid yet. More information will be available at a later state of the process. We are very sorry that we are not able to give out more information about this topic, however I promise more info will follow later and that these discussions will turn out in results eventually.

We have looked at a lot of the topics made here and we have seen a lot of fun, good but also bad examples of solutions. However you can be assure that some of the suggestions you have seen on the forum are taken up to serious consideration regarding how we see our upcoming RvR system made.

Buff barrels and charges

A lot of people have asked for changes regarding this issue and we are currently voting on a few possible actions to be taken. We will however not announce what these changes we vote for are, as we don't want to have the crying war start beforehand. Once we have made a decision (not far from reality) we will announce what change we have decided on and why. Please remember that the solution of nothing happening is still on the table, so do not see this as a guarantee that something will happen.

BG setup

We have decided not to go with the previous stated system. Instead we will implement a few additional BGs and keep the BG setup as a setup starting from some point in the 20s and until level 49.5. We have decided this based on the thought that it is no solution to force people out of the BGs in an attempt to get them into the RvR zones. Instead we will focus on improving our current RvR zones, and motivate people to RvR in our OF zones that way.

Old RvR dungeons

Will be implemented. It is just a matter of time and you will see these dungeons open to the public :)

Behemoth rewards

We are aware that these rewards has not been handed out yet. But we are working on it. Sorry for the delay but due to the website problems and other issues it has been forgotten for a bit as more important issues has been prioritized higher.

Appeals

We get a lot of appeals during the day and we are always more than happy to help. However I would like to remind you all that not all of the GMs speak German ;). So if you don't get a respond on your first appeal feel free to try in English instead of German :) I might be faster and more willing to respond with an English appeal as I will know if I am able to help or not.

Merchant Explores

Only some stress tests are needed to be performed before this will be rolled out. At the moment there is no ETA on when these stress tests are complete. But as soon as we are ready the explore NPCs will be rolled out for the public. Please note that this also means that rents will be increased as houses will be more popular!

Happy Holidays

Thx for the Update!

I have to admit, i'm very happy about the decision not move the 'high-lvl' Battle Grounds to lower levels. And even adding some new BGs. More RvR Fun, less XP grinding. Thumps up!!

Everything is good, Bg, Buffs, Rvr, OldRA, Behemoth, (even if i don't agree on some) but..

Why don't u ever mind to fix a basilar element of the game, like Bonedancer's pets?

increasing the rental?

realy..i cant follow your thoughts...even on live the bigger houses become cheaper for the weekly rental AND got more vaults (the little ones are more expensive)..the basic burchase on live is more expensive, as you see.
and for sure you can earn your money WAY more easy than here (salvage-buggs as a little reminder)..
and houses on live are more attractive than here (merchants offer cheaper material - here they dont)

just a little quote out of the matching patchnote (1.94)... i know its way behind our standard but as i already said...on live moneyincome is easier to get than here.
FOUNDATIONS NOTES

The following changes have been made to housing in all realms:

Purchase Price:

Cottage: The cost of the cottage deed will remain at 1 platinum.
House: The cost of the house deed will drop from 10 platinum to 5 platinum.
Villa: The cost of the villa deed will drop from 40 platinum to 10 platinum.
Mansion: The cost of the mansion deed will drop from 100 platinum to 25 platinum.

Rental Price:

Cottage: The weekly rental price for the cottage will remain at 20 gold.
House: The weekly rental price for the house will drop from 200 gold to 35 gold.
Villa: The weekly rental price for the villa will drop from 800 gold to 60 gold.
Mansion: The weekly rental price for the mansion will drop from 2 platinum to 100 gold.

- Villas will now have access to four vaults. (up from 3)
- Mansions will now have access to eight vaults. (up from 4)

for the rest i wait with comments since i will give it a try.
go and surprise us all with good changes^^

finally a way to burn some money for the ultra rich people. Maybe the prices for highend drops will go down to reasonable values again... after a year or so

I would raise the rents for big houses a lot, while keeping the small ones cheap.

No cap on BG's, nice and doh at the same time... i would still cap BG's at lvl 45. This would push more people into endgame rvr and lvl spots in the frontiers, but at a level where they can at least defend themself against solo gankers.
While the bg nerds still can have theyr fun in BG's from mid 20 'till 45... and if i am not mistaken this is how it was on live servers back in time at our patch level.

rest of the news is all nice stuff

my heart sank when i saw we get no 15-19 bg. ive been looking so forward to it since it was announced :(

please reconsider, or giving us the /rp off command. i know you want to force everyone into the old frontiers but so many people just hate these zones. they are too clunky and the keeps are senselessly bad. i just wanna NF keep sometimes, they are one of the best creations in all of gaming history and you deny us them on purpose.

the OF problems for me are compounded also by the static relics. midgard have a huge problem taking and holding them because these relic keeps are so biased against melee players. midgard is 80% melee for obvious reasons and this is useless in a relic raid or defense. these keeps need to be nerfed a bit so it don't take 45 minutes to break a door while theres 175 sorcs assist nuking a pile of zerks.

would be interesting to know if the staff can give us:
the new keeps
additional towers for the keeps..
and the new siege-system

and all that in OF
as i said in an other post...i like OF maps (except the milegate-maps) more than the NF maps..

@ilcensore - The bonedancer pets are on the to-do list but currently other changes are prioritized higher.

@Musikus (1) - The increased rents are also a part of bringing back a few of the money sinks that has been neglected for a long time which has resulted in a influx of plat.
Basically this should help decrease item costs a bit. We had a big influx of plat due to a few issues:
1. Drops sold for 10x the value they should
2. Bugged item degeneration
3. Cheap houses

This is a part of 3 step solution to this influx of cash.
Also please note we have not yet decided on how much rent increase there will be.

@disdain - Lighten up, we don't give ETAs for a reason (We don't want to disappoint). And I am sorry that you have to be so negative about everything on Uthgard. Maybe this is not the server for you. (Yes even the staff has noticed your behavior on the forums)

@Astealoth - I will talk with the rest of the staff about a 15-19 BG however I can't promise anything. Please remember though that level 15-20 is rather quickly done. So this "loss" of a BG might not be as big a thing as you make it.

@Vangonaj - Look at the reply to Musikus

@Musikus (2) - Currently that is not an option we are considering. And I am unsure if it is possible with our current setup.

But there are semiactive players who need their houses. Now if they will log on, they will must farm money for pay rent, and not do rvr.

In my opinion increase rent house its really stupid idea. You can design your template without dragonstorm, but you cant store your pots, drops... without house.
In midgard there are really expensive drops like dragonstorm. I saw people pay 75p for it. But midgard had last dragonraid maybe 6 month ago, and drop chance is very low. I cant see where house rent increase dragonstorm´s price.

it's quite simple Van

Total plat count in mid = 5000
mid dragonstorm = 75p

Total plat count in mid = 500
mid dragonstorm = 7.5p

Right now 1 plat in mid is worth nothing. If you decrease the total plat count then 1 plat becomes more valuable.
