When a group (mid or hib) is encountered by an Alb group in RVR, what should the MA look for in a target. Generally I go to the back of the group and look for a caster asap. I've been told that I should atleast bash the first toon I see then look for a caster but to me that gives a false assist to the rest of my group.

Anyone?

Daoc isnt that simple, it depends on your group setup wether u should assist or not and which targets to pick. But if u pass a druid/bard on ur way slaming him/her is never a bad decision ;)

Just remember when going after a mid group look for the trolls with 2 axes. They are your main target. Also you should never hit a dwarf as it is bad luck. Kobolds/Frosties are off limits too since they are blue and you can only attack them if you are color blind. Don't worry about any norse either. They are only cheerleaders and pose no threat. Last but not least, the valkyn. They are like large cats and honestly, who kills kittens?

Now as for hibs, all are fair game so whack-a-mole away. :wall:

PS: Obviously not written from a mid POV.

vs. mids i go for offtanks (zerker/savage), because they drop fast. CC supporters and kite tanks out of range. they dont pan camera and overextend easily.

It is highly dependant on group setup and group playstyle.

But in general:

---------------------

Mids:
1) kill the shaman first. if the shaman dies. the group folds. losing spec buffs, endo, and all the other good stuff a shammy can do all at once pretty much makes a mid group wipe. just be careful not to follow him too deep into his own lines unless you have IP up. if you cant identify a shaman... its the kobald in chain waving his arms in the air. and if its a lol troll shaman, be sure to /laugh at the corpse.

secondary targets depend on playstyle. obviously aug healer is a good choice, followed by the pac. or the one caster you might fight if the mids couldnt find another zerker to fill with.

---------------------

Hibs:
1) The bard must die. this is actually a little easier to pull off on uthgard than on live due to the lack of sojo. but you will still be strugglign vs a lot of heals to drop them. but much like the shammy, kill the bard and some buffs drop, and endo drops. thats huge. plus with a bard its the primary ccer too. if you cant identify the bard... its the celt in the front with an instrument. or the blatently stupid looking base class that is wearing armor that doesnt match uthgard crafted (if RR5 dreamweaver is up). if it turns out being a firbolg bard, be sure to give them some /laugh at the corpse.

secondary target imo is not the druids but rather the eldie. just because he will die fast. and on uthgard uncurable nearsight is godly. if he blows rr5 and runs off, let him be for a bit and kill the druid before he has tiem to turn around and realize he left his support undefended.

next of course are druids.
---------------------

General:
much depends on positioning. those out of position should die, because they are easy pickings.

if your group plays more strategy instead of two tank gruops charging at eachother and seeing who lives (push v. push is the standard on uthgard), an alb extension group will typically just kill enemy tanks who overextend, and continue this pattern until the enemy is off balance or moves too far out of position in a move of desperation.

people that blow MOC (which often is the bard or shaman anyways), should die. otherwise even without you hitting on them, hopefully someone in your group is keeping them from casting. soon as you see the moc swirlies, concentrate the pain on them to eliminate the threat. MOC is one of the single most powerful abilities in a push group, and needs to be given the attention it deserves.
an alternative answer to moc is to "force restart" the fight. if your minst didnt SOS on inc, they can sos you out and then just kite out the enemies dump of moc/charge/etc. turn around 20-30 seconds later and face the same group now with a ton of abilities down. but that solution is nothing to do with pickign targets :P

going for the shaman is not the best idea, since he will just inst disease u and kite u while getting healed by 2 healers. shamans can be taken out by pets quiet efficiently. if u r in a push grp spec thrust and go for healers or runi. if u r in a kite grp, spec blades and go for offtanks.
for albs if u r in a push grp, go for casters or clerics and dont overextend and better fall back once in a while to kill tanks. dont kite alb grps.
vs hibs no idea
