If NPC tells you there is free lot in zone,you need run there and find it. Its like searching needle in pile of hay.

Once you know the zone where there's a free lot, you can do /house XXX to check if it's free, since this command gives you the name of the owner.
Not really confortable but better than running all around the zone if you don't have a speed class. That's what i did to find mine... RIP : Ectoplasme
