Just put in my 7 day notice to head to alb. Planning on making a minstrel and was just curious if they are needed? Will I be able to find groups? Is it possible to make enough money without making a necro or cab?

for lvling a minstrel you do a necro first, make money and from that money you pay other necros PL your minst till 40-43, then you go llyn. that way is fastest and you end up with AT

i at'd to 40, and even still, i kind of wished i'd just went to 48 because you won't get groups even if you're actually trained in music.

people want sorcs, not minstrels, for pve groups. just the way it is.

either way, theres a reason there are so few minstrels on the server.

i've played this game far too much, but i can honestly say after playing a minstrel that it is bar none the hardest class to play if you play it with all of it's toolset. it surpasses a pac healer, bard, sorc, any class you can think of from any realm.

and if you don't play it right or correct, your group will see it, and you will get cut out.

so, if you want a challenge, roll one, but also do as the other poster mentioned, and roll a necro first, because theres no way you can afford 10 pieces of sc'd gear by the time you hit 50 (by the way, minstrels also need 10 pieces, compared to most other classes ... 11 if you include lute, which most of us don't even bother getting sc'd).

Mained a Minnie on live for years up to mid RR9 so don't think I'll be THAT bad. Mainly just concerned about finding groups to level and getting templated. Guess roll a necro first?

just as needed as cleric it seems good mins are rare I think

A good minstrel is rare. If you are you good then you will get into good groups very easily after getting a good name for yourself.
