hello everyone,

a friend asked me about playing here and wanted to play a tank.
i told them what i thought was best, but after playing a couple weeks here...i'm not so sure.

any advice would be great, ty


on a side note, i started a paladin to duo with them and... it seems like the healing chant does not work at lvl 6-7ish with all points in chants. it healed me for 5hp when i activated it, then nothing...

I'd say Armsmam, due to plate, anytime snare, big damage with polearm, and godly status RA abilities. Can swap to shield for slam when needed.

Next maybe Reaver due to insane burst damage with Slam+Levi+etc. Some utility with pbaoe pulse and instant ranged dot and lifetap spells. (Bring a cold debuffer and see that live dmg spike)

Personal opinion: I do like the paladin as an 2nd tank for the group but would want an arms as main.

that chants at low levels seems weak, but the heal chant with some levels and learning the double heal twist will kill you if you forget to train in shields to make that pala what it is, a metal wall hard to kill

ok, so i didn't ask for a race for armsman or paladin.

I picked highlander for armsman, and i made a highlander pally initially, then made a saracen pally. I can only say that up to lvl 6 saracen is much harder to lvl/stay alive.

how is it at 50? and is there a preferred race for rvr?

Also, I have pulse and heals turned on to message, but the heal pulse is not showing.

AFIAK all Heal Over Times ( chants, spells ) do not show in any windows no matter what you try. WAI I'd imagine. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Pretty sure was like that on live also, even enabling or toggling combat options.

You cant go wrong with Highlander for Arms or Pally. Saracen wont hit as hard or have as many hit points especially at lvl 6

try editing the chat channel properties and just seeing if they're all turned on?

The amount healed for the heal chant does show up in the default combat window, but only if someone is healed. I'm not sure its a pulsing chant though. I think i've left it on and only ever see the first heal tick. But then again I usually apply DA / endo right after so rarely just leave heals on.

is a pulsing chant, they tick every 8 seconds iirc
