There are a lot of mincers, since every one tells ppl its a sooo hard to play class. Then they start thinking, wait a minute but i m an aweome player and they will all do a minst, after realizing that easiest way of getting rp as mincer is guard tasking. And then they all end up guard tasking.

Reading this thread makes me ask myself what is a minstrels job in a rvr-grp? He has SoS and demezz, but what does he else do? Rupting like a skald? Snare ppl?
THis question is serious i never played a minstrel or really with a minstrel in grp (beside battleground, but BGs are not RvR)

A minstrels main job in rvr is interupts. With 4 instant interupts, plus pet, plus casted or melee, plus charges, a minstrel is arguably the one of the best classes in the game at interupts. A well played theurg might out perform the misntrel in certain situations, but the theurg isnt nearly as durable as a minstrel is.

As a jack of all trades, they can do a little dps, do a little cc, do a little peeling. but they dont really shine at any of those tasks.

Minstrels are quite viable in groups. and actually running 2 minstrels in lieu of a sorc or theurg is also a viable option on uthgard where cc isnt particuarly powerful to begin with.
