horrible on uthgard?
i have at 27.. and reading posts on thia forum i get the idea to reroll a new character..
Seems that scouts are not nice in rvr (and in pve is bad).
Yes i like this character and his gameplay but if i will suck forever..
They said:
- bow dmg is not like in live server
- scout's melee is so horrible
- 1vs1 forever release (if not inc from bow)
- ranger is overpowered
- versus assassins no chance
- slambot
etc.

So what i have to do? maybe i can kill only soloin mages : S

Im breton slash scout.. and i think to spec for first 50 in rvr something like:
50 bow
42 shield
18 slash
35 stealth
it's a sniper mode and after some rrank to change a lot this spec to favorite melee.

Ok spec for the beginning. Later on I suggest you the following (with autotrain):

18 thrust (detaunt)
50 shields (10 sec stun, good block chance, damage with slam if needed)
45 bow
33 stealth

Scout melee isnt horrible. Last time I faced a Inf/ Scout duo and the scout was obviously melee spec because he did hit me up to 115 mainhand damage. That is more than most of the Infs, but of course no dual wield option.

Thats why you should max your shield later on and get the 10 sec stun to make more bow damage while your opponent is stunned and to achieve that you have to have a high block chance.

18 weapon is for the detaunt because it does raise your defense and damage is mainly dealt with your shieldstyles. And yes, you can kill rangers with camou critshot slam and another critshot. Most rangers spec pd4 and some mos before they have purge.

for a decent RRank i think to use:

45 Bow
42 Shield
34 Stealth
29 Slash
or something like.
But principally my problem is not the spec Ronian : )

well, many stop play scouts because they cant handle them.
it´s not an easymode class like many others..with this class you must realy use all your tools you get to stay a chance at all.

Was there any Duo-talk? No. He asked bout solo play scout. You played scout solo to 50 and then endgame RVR vangonaj? No? Please leave this Thread then, till you get something to talk about you experienced yourself.
Musikus is right, Scouts aint easy solo in endgame rvr. But if you can handle it, and get the right mix of whatever tools you can use best, you will perform ok.

If you avoid Emain at prime time you will be fine. Scout isnt the damaging class but has a really nice defense with shieldspec, evade3 and he can spec PD too.

Talk to Deagle he knows how to play scout :)

Does the Scout have any options to force his opponent to us Purge before the slam?

Purge is what really does the Scout in as a solo class.

That's a really great idea.

Since we don't care about abusing the hell out of poison-trading here, a Scout should keep a few snared-weapons in his inventory.

If they purge your slam, snare them, sprint away and then pound them into the dirt with your bow.
