With all the NPC changes what is the best class/spec for farming drops for salvaging? I was interested in starting a cabe but now not sure sure with all the changes.

yeh but with matter isn't the aoe disease not as good as maybe a pure pet spec? and as far as farming what would be best now?

Cabalist was better for farmin ofc, you could kill lots of mobs (5+) at the same time with focus+ae dot+kite style. Now pets can't survive against 2 ora without heals. If you try more than 2 ora, you will see that they die instantly so you can't even cast aoe dot before they die. Since the caba is not that great for killing multiple mobs, friar is the best choice. You have no downtime and faster kill speed on singles.

Btw body is aoe disease

Matter caba has nothing to do with pet dmg blue, yes they hit more but focus and dot makes caba a good farmer. With the mew mob dmg change even pure casters like wiz are better for farming. They have less down time at least.

This was what I thought, and what I was afraid of

I had plans on raising a sorc and cabelist but not now. If SI ever comes out then maybe I'll try it

with 3 in spirit theres no downtime for cabby, no need of sere, no need of pow pots...theres any other class that can do this?

I don't know, I logged my 28 caba recently, and without buffs the pet recycling with 3 spirit gives so little power it's better to just sit down and wait for power.

I'm not so much worried about power recycling/regenning as I am how effective the former farming tactics for cabe are after the update ( matter spec) I assume the spirit spec might be better for cabe now after pet updates but not effective for farming groups of mobs in one pull

I think was a bug.

Now you cannot recycle mana doing that you get the same amount of mana used to summon pet ^^

u have to use amber to recycle, is the pet that returns more pow

and yes, more spirit spec returns more pow
have no idea if spirit cabby works...ask Jezz I only played cabby with high matter or body spec

Sorry Mate - you have no idea about Caba spec and gameplay.
1. you need at least Sere II
2. you need more than 3 Points in Spirit to convert your Pet effective (best Choice for convert is the Level1 Pet -Pet with most HPs) cause with every point in Spirit you get more Mana back.

i got 46+4 spirit spec (no +1spirit from items imho) and i get 50% mana from recycling an amber simu with full health...sapphire and emerald give less (imho 40% but i don't convert them often)...ruby gives even less imho, but not sure...

and yes, spirit caby works...however, there's downsides:

- purple body-debuf (50 delve value, 61.25% actual) is only 8s duration and that duration is decreased by enemy resists...i.e. if you debuff some1 with resist-buffs you'll have like 5s duration which only allows 3 lifetaps...with moc3 that's even less as it'll only be 75% duration to start with...
- the ae-snare is nice when trying to run away, but it cannot be used on targets with root-immunity AND it leaves a root-immu timer when faded or broken...i.e. if you snare your enemies and they purge or take dmg you can't root them afterwards...which makes the root not soooo useful
- pet-buffs are really nice, but most pets still lack some important skills: emerald pet lacks dot that perma-rupts targets (no bug!), amber has no self-con (+100 con on level 44 amber!) - the other's are not so important for solo-rvr (sapphire useful in pve and it's already fully implemented)

i played spirit-cab back on live (had all 3 specced cabas on my acc, actually) with old RAs (100% moc, 30 min purge, wheee) and 15s body debuff - that was really nice and with moc active it was almost impossible to be killed (except for being stunned ofc, but then again u never used moc without purge being up vs stunning or mezzing classes)..

i think on uth it's best to farm with matter...gobos should be pretty nice and you can even salvage the chain they drop...maybe there's better spots but none so large ...dunno for other classes..i guess friar might do well when farming yellow or orange mobs...maybe matter cab is nice here too, but then again he has no good pet-buffs

now tell me how I should spec and play my cabby...if u know how to

Just my 2 Cents BUT every Caster need Sere for Manaregboost.

Nice for you, that you dont need Sere in long RvR Fights.
Maybe you are so awesome that you release your Emerald Simu and cast 1 or 2 Amberpets for Convert and after this you recast the Emerald Simu again.

Remember, this Thread is about Caba and PvE ...
