I'm looking to make a paladin purely for PvE

I want him to be as group friendly as possible

What race/spec should I be looking at (2h, sword/sheild?) (slash/crush etc)

For this character I have no interest in PvP

I have limited knowledge of the class and only know they bring endurance to the group which is sort after in a PvE group.

Any other tips greatly appreciated

Thanks

Race - Saracen (15dex 10str)
Spec - 48chants 42shield 39slash rest parry or 50shield 43chants 37slash rest parry
NOTE : U will need to autotrain chants till lvl20 and slash till lvl40.

Tips : Use taunt and learn to doubleheal by twisting chants ;)

best dex of all other classes. dex = block
Saracen is the king of blocking :)

And if you master the doublehealing and have some friends to grp all the time u can lower the slash to 29 and up parry/chants but u will miss alot.

43 chants = last heal chant
48 chants = last shield (AF) chant

shield for sure, always and forever, dont even think about 2h.

Keep chants always maxxed out, remaining points evenly split between crush and shield.

Dont ever touch Slash until level 40 so you get some free points in it (autotrain) as crush is better for leveling anyway (low endurance cost, better taunt). At lvl 40 you have a single line respec you can use to remove Crush and spec Slash.

Saracen = less hp and dmg more block/parry
Highlander = most hp and dmg, least block/parry
Breton = midway.
race for pure group friendly i guess saracen, but its not a huge deal of a difference, just pick whatever you like better between highlander, breton and saracen, as the difference is virtually non existant.

Every leveling group will always look for a paladin desperately, you will never have any problem finding one

Don't forget 1 dext point = 0.0375% blockrate bonus.
If you go for 20 extra dext you don't even win 1% extra block-rate. It's actually 0.75%.

I'd prefer HP for end-game PVE purpose, when you tank Legion or Dragon, what you need is not to get one-shot. And hp are in this case more important than 0.7% block i guess. => Highlander ?

I always go Highlander. 10 Str, 10 Dex, 10 Con.

Crush for leveling, and AT until lvl 20 for chants is ok, post that you cripple yourself and are worthless for groups, since endu 3 is at lvl 22, and endu 1 and 2 are basically worthless, as is the low lvl heal chant. With the lvl 18 healchant then, when you hit 20, it becomes kinda fun, finally. Now you're totally viable to play either solo or support a group, especially in plate armor. Before you're more or less a worse Armsman, a much worse.
