Paladin: Skill points into slash

Other than unlocking abilities, or adding composite points to boost accuracy, what does putting more point into slash do?
IE, if I stopped at 29 slash, instead of 34 slash, would I see a difference in damage, or does point into slash not affect damage, only accuracy and defense penetration (although I heard increased points into weapon skills does not affect penetration of defenses). |

its suppose to raise Weaponskill (this is your boosted accuracy)
mythic never fully explained/displayed this. the only viewable weaponskill statistic is whichever your main one is. that is to say these are the things that will not appear: shield dual wield left axe all spellcasting lines however all it does is it effects your hit/miss ratio against your opponents weaponskill so going higher than your composite rating of 50, does return benefits, but with diminishing returns. |

Is this true for all classes? For instance, is Minstrel - Slash: 19 -> 20 just an increased chance to land hits on opponent and no +dmg? |

Until you cap composite 50 weapon skill line, your damage will have variances. Apart from weapon-skill increase, it will also slightly boost your average damage as well. |
