I'm realizing now that a Friar may not have been the wisest choice for a first character, with the expense of keeping up with staves and gear, but I'm committed to seeing it through. Tailoring is helping me keep my armor at least blue, but I keep out-leveling my staff and that's where it really starts to hurt -- making it a challenge to take on even blues when my miss rate screws me over. So I've decided to commit the next couple of levels to farming, the question however is what?

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what mobs may be the best choice for my situation? The river racers in Salisbury Plains were helpful from 8-10 - their drops being plentiful, though lacking in value. I've found that the boulderlings tend to drop gems that sell for over 1s each, which is nice, but they're usually camped.

Your ideas are appreciated!

Complete kill tasks from Lady Aelawen at Prydwen Keep Bridge and then from one of the guards at West Downs. You can also try joining a group in Mithra at level 9, as your gear matters a lot less when you aren't soloing mobs. If you're finding the subpar staff to be a problem you'd like to solve immediately, enter Camelot and use /b to broadcast an ad about buying a player-made staff. Use this page to find the exact staff you'd like them to make. I suggest an oaken shod quarterstaff, which costs about 1.5g to craft. Remember to trade in your friar robe to the Camelot trainer (Sterlyn, not Ethelbald) at 10, 15, and 20. Lastly, check out this guide, and more specifically, doing the Staff of Life quest at 11 and the Sioms Staff quest at 14. These are wonderful 100% qua staves that will maximize your DPS.

For higher level staff drops, refer to this list, sort by class, and ignore any staff labeled SI, TOA, CAT, or storebought. Then check the mob or quest associated with it, and consider prioritizing it. Keltoi has the Dark Shod staff dropped off Eremites, for instance. View this map to find them.
