Dont know how I didnt find out about this server until now but better late than never I guess. Mostly played Mid in the past with a little Hib every now and then. Didnt wanna go Mid again this time around, plus it seems like half the server is playing Mid. Dont think any of my Alb alts ever made it past like level 15. Im sorta familiar with classes just from running into them in the past in RvR/BGs. However, given the current patch, and the fact I have little experience on Alb could use a little advice. Is there such thing as a class thats decent solo (pve and rvr) and also wanted in groups(pve and rvr)? I would prefer grouping but in case theres no groups to be had still wanna watch my exp bar move a little.

Minstrels are wanted in RvR, harder to find PvE groups.

Sorcs are wanted in both and can solo to some extent.

Cabalists can solo PvE, aren't wanted much in PvE groups, and have a place in RvR - but we already have a ton of Cabalists.

Theurgists can solo PvE alright, and are wanted in both PvE and PvP groups.

Maybe somebody else can fill it in better.

Theurg might be your best bet. They offer decent solo ability but can very frequently find groups because they are so desired for pbt. The pure melee classes (Arms/Merc) are desired in RvR and pve groups but are miserable pve soloers. Pallies are okay at solo pve, but really never need to solo because groups 15+ levels higher want them in their group just for endo chant. And pallies are only welcomed in certain rvr situations.

That covers some of the other classes Budikah didn't mention already.

arent Theurgs gonna be a power hog? seems like pet spam takes a lot out of you.

can you just play Endo chant and thats it? My wrist still hurt from playing an EQ Bard back before they added /melody lol.

Granted I haven't played it very far yet but typically I find 2 ice pets take down a yellow con mob without me nuking. Pbt is simply set and forget in group settings. The running joke in Albion is that all theurgs afk for 90% of their group leveling.

Don't take Paladin in that case. Same for Minstrel (especially in RvR).

Theurg is nice in quite every situation (as long as you spec for pbt).
Theurg can be mighty but is not that hard at the beginning, the most important thing for RvR is to recognize the proper classes for your pets and take care of your position

Except to refresh da/haste every 10 minutes? I main a theurg, and it's not much more than that. But with 8 or 6 sec pbt, and da/haste, you have very little power to do anything else. POM makes you able to nuke once or twice a mob, at least. Or the occasional root if something goes to your healer(s) and the sorc/mincer is busy.

I might give Sorc a shot. I played Healer on Mid and it seems exactly like a Pac healer with the PoM, speed, and mezzing. Obviously outside of the Pac line they share nothing alike but I enjoyed CCing a lot and really the only thing I hated about my Healer was not being able to solo anything. Its like I would have what I loved most about my Healer and none of the things I hated, like actually having to heal and not being able to kill gray mobs.
