After goofing around on all three realms I think I'm set on Alb as my final home. There are just too many Mids and it is too hard to find groups on Hib. (Incidentally, I have done about a jillion /whos on all realms at all different times of the day and am your guy if you have questions about class/realm pops.)

When I played on live from 01-03 I did a lot of 8v8 and would top the weekly herald from time to time for rps. I was thinking I would go down that road again but am thinking I might want to do something more casual instead.

My question is, what do you do in rvr other than 8v8? And as a follow up, how do you make rps doing it? Last question is, of the three classes I list below, what might be best for doing those non 8v8 things?

Weird questions I know, but I kind of missed that whole aspect of the game when I played on live and would like to experience it. Not sure if I want to deal with all the stuff that goes along with regularly running in competitive 8 mans.

Have it narrowed down to three classes I believe.

Sorcerer: Pros. Speed, ranged for surfing the zerg and keep D, power regen, looks pretty fun to play in groups, could do 8v8 if I change my mind, tailoring for salavage. Cons. Primary mezzer for 8v8 I believe, which is a ton of responsibility, overplayed and hard to find groups?

Paladin: Pros. Easy grouping for pve and leveling, I like tanking and an awesome toon from an RP perspective, decent solo toon if needed, kind of rare. Cons. How do I make rps?? What do I do in rvr? No tailoring for salvage.

Friar: Pros. Really cool toon, I'm good at switching between melee and off healing (mained a warden), great solo toon, tailoring for salvage, kind of rare. Cons. How do I make rps?? What do I do in rvr? Can I find groups while leveling?

Thanks for any insight! This is getting ridiculous and I really need to just play haha. Have deleted a 36 Arms, a 30 BM, and a 10 Hunter. Time to get going.

I remember grouping with a slowpoke in Hib. The grouping is not that bad there -.- Also why did you delete all your toons and not just wait the 7 days to try the others while you're leveling them? A lot of the information for the classes you are inquiring about is also in the class forums for each of them, if you do not want to wait for a response.

You can always do small man and keep defense. 8 Mans are not everything, just the 8 man classes may find it easier to find groups.

What else do to besides 8v8?
Solo
Small man (basically gank solos, other small mans, and XPers)
Keep / Relic Raid / Zerg

Solo:
You'll make fine RPs if you're getting kills. This will be much less frustrating if you play a stealther. Playing as a stealther is it's own play style with pros and cons.

Small man
Flexible if you play the right class, decent RPs, and you can always upgrade to 8v8 or higher #s.

Keep / Relic Raid / Zerg:
Only good if YOU are comfortable building groups and leading / coordinating the zerg/multiple groups. If you're not you will probably be disappointed because the number of people willing to do this stuff is high, but the number willing to organize is not. RPs might be a bit less overall but it's very different and if you're having fun who cares.

Class suggestions:
Solo: Infiltrator / Minstrel / Sorc
Small man: Minstrel / Sorc / Cleric / Friar (since you are interested in one)
Keep/Relic/Zerg: (small man classes) + almost anything (meh on Infiltrator though). Personal choice: Fire Wizard
Nezix - 50 Minstrel <The Band>

Merlin: Arthur, what is best in life?
Arthur: To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their Lurikeens.

I am not the Slowpoke who was/is on Hib. It is my screen name but not a toon name...saw that guy running around though :)

Didn't wait the seven days because I got the itch to try something new and didn't want to wait seven days...for better or worse.

And thank you very much Nezix for that write up on things to do and class suggestions!

I guess I was kind of thinking out loud on classes.

Will think a bit more and pick something and go!

I know Stranger Danger grouped often, everynight so far. I'm surprised you never considered grouping with them!
