thats why frostalf rocks, best pie and dex :D

stormcalling is good for aoe pulling a grp of green/blue/yellows mobs - good way of farming for gold...

@ mfassben
if you ever played thane in rvr you would know that you have to skill much parry to stay alive against assasins and other dual wielders.
but if you do so, you have to drop your "dmg" lines like weapon and stormcalling so your dmg will be reduced.
if thane wins vs skald, doesnt matter because they never meet each other as enemies.
skald in rvr is much stronger than thane because he got the better RA's
and he got speed, mezz, and two very strong DD's
the only thing i would agree with is that thanes are stronger in tank vs tank fights .... but how often you see solo tanks in rvr?

ontopic: race norseman for thane, you will be the best allrounder.
for skald i would choose norseman or troll.

Dmge wrote:U guys are giving a great importance to stormcalling, this means that the MAYOR part of the damage dealt to a mob is dealt by cast/instant spells. Is that right?

- If that's right, why don't u place 10 piety in starting points? (U know 10 dex doesn't affect block rate that much, check and download DAoC charplan).

- If that's not right, why not going 50 weapon?

a big part of why people spec high in SC is also for the s/c buff which also increases your damage and the amount of damage you can take

dex affects block, parry and castspeed

and since you will never be a full-out DD going 50 weapon and sacrificing the damage you get from higher stormcalling or the defense from higher shield/parry spec just normally isn't worth it

but, as always, in the end it's probably best if you try it yourself :)
(i never actually played a thane to lvl 50 but those are my experiences from lvling with my thane who is 43... my skald is 50 though but he's for RvR ^^)
