Hello everyone!

We are four swedish real life friends who just recently arrived to Uthgard Midgard. We're all currently in our mid to late 30's and we're looking to expand our roster.

Our goal will be to focus mostly on late game RvR but also have a friendly, open and social guild. And by open we mean people helping eachother out when and if possible in both PvP and PvE. However, begging will absolutely NOT be tolerated in the guild.

During the summer we'll be playing most of the days. Most of our members sofar are EU players so the activity will be revolving around EU GMT and GMT+1 hours.

What we're looking for!

You must be atleast 18 years of age.
You must be able to speak and communicate in english.
You must be atleast level 30 on one character.

We're recruiting almost all classes right now, to some extent.

If you're interested or have questions feel free to contact me either here on the forum or ingame on my character named Relidar as well!

Cheers

Hi mate and thanks for the post.
We aim to get a good setup at 50 and have a fg running with experienced players. Relidar is the one taking care of invites and recruitments, We currently have 1 aug/mend healer, 2 savage, 1skald, 1 shammy so we got some spots to fill.. Relidar will get in touch with you as soon as he gets back to the "office" :)

You can always get in touch with us ingame!
Regards Alistor

Possibly interested in joining, About ready to leave the newb guild finally just cant deal with the incredibly idiotic questions asked there not to mention the douchery... Looking for mature exped players to enjoy the game with..

Currently have a 30 SM Sum/supp and a 30 SB assasin spec,

Not sure if you guys are looking for only the dream team classes or if your accepting all classes but def might be intersted if this is something that is going to be permanent not a fling..

We're definitely recruiting anything we can find. To us a good player is alot more important than the right class. We're still not a 100% sure about the setup, but we're leaning towards a melee heavy one right now with 3 savages, 1 shaman, 1 healer and 1 skald. That doesn't mean we will always have that setup online every day though.

Right now almost everyone but me are 40+. I check this thread daily and i try to play a few hours every day, but summer and IRL is taking up ALOT of time. (the guys will tell you i spend 18hours a day sleeping, they're LIARS!)

Either way, if anyone is interested either look me up ingame so we can have a quick talk, or send me a PM with a little bit about yourself here!

Just to let ya know there is no defense penetration from weapon spec or weapon stat or weaponskill table here so the only way to lower block rate is with LA mechanics for midgard. That means 3 savages on a target with a guard it will leave all 3 savages seeing 75%+ of their attack blocked. Not impossible to win like that, but a good group will shut down your train for the most part. Splitting the assist because of guard sucks, especially if they've got two guards.

And then, also because guard is so effective on uthgard, it makes a lot of sense to have a warrior. Not just guard, but dashing defense, SB, slam, snare, and an RR5 that makes you immortal are a great combination.

If you have a decent warrior, running a runemaster becomes a huge benefit. If you have a good runemaster that is, a bad RM is just a 7 man. But a good RM will keep thuergist pets free (if youve got a few thuerg pets on all your support you are dead, and yes thuergs will MoC with BoF/guard while your 3 savages do no dmg to them), and land crucial NSes to disrupt nukes that wouldve killed your tanks, heals that wouldve saved your tank's targets, or nukes to finish off the BM that just popped his I parry everything RA.

Zerk/Zerk/Warrior/RM, or Zerk/Sav/Warrior/RM seems to just do a lot better. If you can't find a really good RM just add another zerk or savage imo. As long as youve got at least 1 zerk (and make sure its a troll, seriously) you should be ok, since guard can be controlled and the savages will do insane dmg once the shield is out of the way.

Sorry for the wall of text, but it would suck to level a whole group to 50, get out of thid and realize the setup wasn't going to work.

anyone ever try full suppression SM , pbaoe spec instead of the RM or with some? used to be one of the most powerful RVR classes in classic and in modern daoc even solo with some RR and such dont see why more ppl dont have a melee rvr group like zerk , savage , Supp SM , pac Healer , war, RM , RM ,aug/mend or just mend or aug Healer..

that seems logical to me but hey what do i know

back in the day the SM's PBaoe was flipping scary to get close to and it would be good defense if u ran around with your melees and were protected by them PBaoeing with them vendoing and quading War guarding Healer , RM doing his thing..

That's really cool of you to take the time and explaining the mechanics for us mate, we really appreciate it!

That does sound pretty bad though, seeing as we went pretty heavy on the savages. Not quite sure if the guys are wanting to reroll now that we're almost 50, but we can atleast give this setup a proper try first.

I know wilton is a bad comparison, but in there we've been doing very good sofar, pretty much anything drops within seconds when the train gets rolling.

I do like the RM in a setup, we were initially expecting another IRL friend to join up with his RM but thing didn't work out the way we wanted.

Either way, the information is much welcome, and we will take all of this into consideration. Maybe the devs have an upcoming patch soon to fix h2h as well?

We did consider a PBAoE setup, but the way we want it to work it would require a few more dedicated people playing to perfect it. Even on live they still run the setup we have in mind.

It goes something like 2 SM (PBAoE), 1 RM (Sup/RC), 2 Pac, 1 Skald, 1 Sham and then you could either put in a Warrior for guard swapping/peeling etc, or have a really high Det charger to really mess the enemies up. Although having an offensive Det tank works alot better on live due to Banelord.

i see , well im going full suppression at 40 , for one cuz i need a change from summoning spec ( ugh ) and two cuz " BomB spec" SMs are very risky and dangerous to play but there also very risky and dangerous to other players =P and thats right up my alley =)

all though i must say , my SB will probably end up being my main RVR char, willing to go whatever spec if i had a regular RVR group.. Shadowzerker could work in 8v8's Assasin is more solo but can help guess well see..

was thinking of dumping CS at 40 and going LA , Axe , Poison , but i have put quite a few points in stealth for the assasin spec i am now. so might need the 40 respec and a stone to get things right. which is where my farming SM comes in lol

hard to say when fixes for things like that will come. I am not expecting to see it any time soon. Re leveling 1-40 something does suck, but its a lot shorter than 1-50, full template, and 500K RPS.
