I'm very exited to join Midgard ranks. I got to 43 on a Reaver and decided it wasn't for me. I'm originally from Midgard Iseult.

Wondering what class would be better for this patch level. I'm open for solo or group PvE and PvP but considering my schedule, I will be forced to mostly solo.

I'm undecided between RM and Skald... what do you guys think? Are they good/decent solo farmers and PvPers.

Also, my short term is getting my tradeskill high enough to be able to salvage gear and make money. Can a tailor raise armorcrafting high enough to salvage gear of all levels? What lvl of trade skill I need to salvage lvl 50 gear?

Cheers

Both rm and skald are decent choices for a solo minded player. I lean more towards skald, nice being able to run around at max speed.

I don't believe skalds can be tailors though. Tailoring is the quick and cheap route to go if you want to salvage. You don't need to raise armorcrafting after leveling tailoring though. You just need to raise your wood and metalworking. I think 950 metalworking should be high enough to get max salvage value but someone else might correct me.

~ 850 skill is enough for salvaging without losses in classic.
SI drops required more, you're always safe with 950.

I wouldn't go for a runemaster for solo pvp. Too easy to interrupt, too slow, too squishy overall.
You will need a class with max speed or stealth for that.

And here is the usual link to get rid of all further salvaging questions ;)

You can make a lvl 5 twink for tailoring. Upgrade metalworking & woodworking. Clothworking and Leatherworking go up with tailoring.

RMs are fun in PvE, but I hate any caster in this game for RvR. The interrupts are maddening.

Skald is always an easy choice. They get grps, have speed, can solo very well, farm well, can grp RvR and solo RvR.

Only drawback is you will be 1 of 6 million.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Also, the link is pretty useful.

I decided to go with a skald for now. Since so many of you pointed out that casters are not that great due to been easily interrupted, etc.

Can anyone help me out with a kickstart? Having no gear is rough...

Edit: skald name is Soulhunter
