quickness caps at 250 which a kobold has with yellow DQ so the valks 5 extra quick is wasted.

Jarysa wrote:I like your example, tho. Because THRUST (which is str/dex like h2h) inconnu mercs will outdamage THRUST (which is str/dex like h2h) HO mercs. (again inconnus come with better resists, too)

And again, no. Do you want me to write down the exact difference in dmg stats since you have problems calculating them? It's +5 for HO team.
Jarysa wrote:You´re right about the 7.5. Still pretty much nothing as we´re talking stats above 300. As you obvouisly failed all your math classes ever (elds don´t nuke for 200 against 0 resists): that is an 2.5% increase. 5% body is also ~0.9secs off a single mezz/root or about 10% less time cc´d (with old det5).

Unlike you I wasn't trying to post exact numbers, I thought it was obvious from the style it was written in, but hey you need all the straws you can get amirite?
Jarysa wrote:TL;DR: don´t go troll. it´s for all hat no cattle people.

Actually I wouldn't have suggested troll to him, kobold is my pick. But you are right, dwarves are ovbiously the best choice, I mean all that extra hp mang.

Yeah, you never suggested anything.

Unlike you i never made any ranking other then * > troll.

I need straws because Miniel might be foolish enough to follow your bad advice. Which has not seen even a single argument yet.

1.Less quickness=more frontload damage, more frontload damage=win on uthgard (Yes even on light tanks).

2. what I wrote was a rundown of best races for a svg, I never wrote later that troll wasn't the best race I wrote what I would suggest. And yes, I made a mistake on that list, valkyn is better than dwarf.

Ladies and gentleman, welcome back in 2003.

(On a more serious note as celerity is allways up according to Mr. Bawww this doesn´t matter as a savage will cap on swingspeed with cele anyway)

BTW do you suggest running a 0qui temp and no selfhaste too?

And according to your view of DAoC celerity actually isn´t an advantage to midgard. As frontloading = win, and therefore fail = celerity.

Nice way too put the final nail in the coffin of your troll attempt.

or 5 and aug quick 1, either way a kobby will cap quick so a valk won't out damage them. But they will be ugly and grunting while not doing it =P

Just play the class you like most tbh.
It's like the neverending war between Lurikeen and Elf-Enchanters..^^

It's your char and it's your playtsyle.

There's even a Avalonian Merc (!!) which isn't the best race for this class for sure!

It all depends on what you like and f**** those numbers from those Math-freaks, play like you wanna play ;P

Ok help me again.... cause it seems that all freaks/nerds have fun using a lot of abbrevations.
Why is Dwarf a bad choice for a savage - if we do need some math.

Ok besides resistance - which do something - i can't see why it is.

Dwarf has a high constitution which i think is good for a savage cause a savage uses hitpoints for savagery. More hitpoints = more specials to use.

Ok strength is normaly count for damage mostly so more strength means more damage. But PARRY will be calculated with dexterity which is extremly low on a troll.

pls enlighten me - why is troll is good and dwarf bad. -> and please write it down so normal people can understand.

Dwarf is such a bad choice because the damage from a savage is str/dex based, so you add start str and dex, and find it very low compared to all other races.

More con dont help much, and makes you loose more hp for each self-buff since they are percent based, of total !? hp.

Troll is the race with most combined str and dex, that is why so many people pick it, and claim they will have cele up anyway.

I would on the other hand pick a kobold.
And spec anything but hth until level 40.

Here is why:
In rvr, if you get cele, then the fight is already won, so you should not expect to get it at all. Also 98% of all RvR shamans only have yellow dex/qui buff. Therefore a kobold will cap spd, and a troll will not. Something that makes them do more damage over time then a troll will.

You will loose the option to go 2h with good dmg, but 2h will always suck compared to hth, except below level 40. Since hth dont become good until post lvl 40.

Now the key thing for me to chose kobold over troll.
You probably guessed it, size!

We have buffshears on this server, and someone who are sheared do very little damage, compared to someone who are buffed.
So if a savage is already on a target and CC immune, you will want to shear him. Something that is A LOT easier to do with a Troll, then with a Kobold.

Try target a kobold in a 2-3 people assist-train when they are on someone, it is a pain.

This leads to a kobold having his buffs longer, something that leads to even more damage then a troll...

around the middle, ie:
Buff Shear (Acuity) - Rips off buffs of the specified type from the target(s).
