Hey there.
I plan to start playing here with my brother and was wondering what shamans can do here actually.
Does the single dot stack with the aoe dot?
And is the dd of the shaman with the 20s timer?
This is very important for me speccing in the subterrean line.
I'd be very pleased to see an answer pretty soon.
Thx a lot

I think it's quite accurate with what shamans can do on Uthgard.

Unfortunately no. Although both are different kind of damage, they won't stack.

freinkegi wrote:And is the dd of the shaman with the 20s timer?

Yes.

It's very important that you don't neglect the aug line, though. You can go for a 38 aug / 37 cave / 9 mend so you can have perma-sprint with long wind 1.

thank you for the answer.

Unfortunately the timer is 20s and they dont stack.
On live server there is no 20s timer and both DoTs stack. are there any plans on implementing this? i mean shamans are quite cool but its hard to solo if you only have 1 dot, which tics 50% slower than on live by the way.

I hope to get any info on that too :D
thx

I don't think we can expect further changes on the shaman. There is simply the 1.80 / TOA limit that the GMs do not wish to exceed.

Now don't forget that by design, shamans are (strong) support class, not really meant to be played solo. Full cave has no survability, and the points you need to put on aug in order to get workable buffs weakens your DD.

I don't think there are many solo shamans on Uthgard IMO. :P

Absolutely. :) 27 cave is the minimum I think, I suggested 37 for yellow DDs and to limit resists on insta diseases.

I actually think we have too many shamans who think they are some kind of damage dealers already :P

so many shamans casting dot on my cleric or attacking him with hammer and I always ask - why?

You're so cruel. :P

It's brave, you have to grant this to them.

I was wondering the other day, can DoTs crit? Can disease crit?

I know they used to be able to on live, then it was removed. Was it re-upped?

Thanks!

I believe a disease crit (long long LONG) time ago, add an additional healing penalty, more than the normal 50%.

I've just looked at the TLR 1.70:
http://daoc.catacombs.com/forum.cfm?Thr ... 5&forum=45

...
One of the defining abilities of Shamans, Disease, can no longer crit in RvR.

But I didn't test it on Uthgard, though.

O RLY?

I was hoping that the obvious thing here is that shaman has far more superior interrupts than these two
