been lookin and it seems like 43 aug/27 cave/18 mend is the best overall spec...

pros: all but red buffs, all shears, pbae disease, heals arent totally useless

cons: no red buffs, only red heat resist

dont plan on healing much in rvr anyways but its decent for raids and what not..

any other specs?

43A, 31C, 10M is another option where you trade healing for the next AE root.

there are a lot of what I would call bot specced shamans here who will have either all red resist buffs, or at least all red specs. some only spec for red SC.

On this server, the Red specs are great for small man. Plus AE shears.

That green root is not worth it, tbh.

i prefer 46 aug 27 mend 8 cave. shaman mend line has some nice stuff and base root/disease is enough for me in 8v8.

/sign

I can mostly pbae desease my but out of harms way and the ae dex shear is good enough for most fights. Also like the fact that most tanks think twice about charging in and going out of healing range without those red buffs
And despite you might say, the green really is worth it, in caster grps you can keep kiting a whole lot longer due to mezz/root combination & ichor after just incase they keep getting closer.

Because you underestemite a good shaman with 48aug and MoC1.

You don't need PBAE disease, you can cast it while moccing, and your buff shear AE are totally usefull while in MoC. And you can drop MoC if you don't need it. Plus the rupters of the other realm can't do anything on you.

I played mostly with 48aug shaman with MoC, and if the AT of the enemies were on me, or on the pac healer, or on the RM, they didn't dealt so much dmg: str/con shear ae + str share ae + minimun heals and bof on a cloth wearer with 3 guys on him (Merc + Arms + Pally in AotG), and they were just wasting their time while their supporters were dying.

For a group shaman that is the best spec imho if you know what and how to play your toon. BTW you just need MoC1, that are 5 points and the only thing that enemies can do is to kill you. And it's not that easy, if you purge (2) the slam and you're still casting AE Shears on them and you've a good Aug Healer covering your ass.

Think about it. I played like this and worked :)

good spec for 8 man in emain, but i plan on doing quite a bit of small man, seems like trading cave utility for red buffs and shears hinders survivability

a spec like 48 aug seems to me that ur just a legal buff bot that runs around with the grp. Doesnt sound like that spec is very much fun.

is grp friggs any good? sounds like that would be very usefull. Also u dont do much CC because mezz > root, and i know that the disease can be kinda usefull to cut out your Opponents healing..

But when all is said and done.. sounds like u guys are saying your main job is buff shearing and heals, so maybe a high aug/mend spec is the way to go?

main jobs:

disease spam (reduce str, movement speed and heal effect on the target)
rootspam (roots the target  )
shear spam (reduce the dmg / ability to survive)

on top of that disease / root interrupts (not sure if shears interrupt on uth? ;))

if a shaman has to heal.. well.. ouch :P

and the grp frigs is worthless
