Not like it's impossible to play with caster speed + perma sprint...

A skald will stand in CC forever (also loses purge 3) and they will lose all their group RAs, excepted AOG but as I've heard, the OF version is not even worth being specced.
I don't see any reason to invite a skald instead of a det tank with old RAs tbh.
I am assuming direct control.

he's standing in CC like any other char

but his speed is a main advantage
what does your imba grp setup help you with 4 savages 1 runi 2 healers and 1 shami if your enemies simply outrun or "outkite" you?

A warrior, savage or zerk will not stand in CC.

RM or healer speed is enough to catch anyone, if you get speed in fight. Does it look like alb tanks never hit anyone because they have lower speed ? But sure it's not as easy as sos every inc like most mids are used to.
I am assuming direct control.

if the interrupt code is fixed before OF goes live skalds will be a lot more useful.

If it isn't, they are pretty meh.

since his replacement is supposed to be a RM, he WILL stand in CC like a skald, besides he will be rendered useless (just like people claim skalds will be) by NS when purge isnt up

but i guess you could find reasons for not taking a skald with you any time...
i personally wouldnt stop taking skalds with me if one is available because i basically never gave a rats ass about "fotm" or "imba" setups

Well, I wasn't considering a skald as replacement for a RM. Skald or not, you need a RM as nearsight will be even more OP than now, especially against alb (also necessary to clear theu pets). And I prefer a det tank instead of a rather low utility char, easy to control.

Anyway I'm not here to tell you what to do, I'm just answering the question of the topic : I don't think a skald with old RAs is worth being taken in fg. If you disagree or if you still want to play with skald I don't mind.
I am assuming direct control.

skald isnt so bad in of ra. they'll have a lot of free points now to spec high mastery of arms. it does wonders for their melee output. cc will be a problem for everyone besides det tanks. plus what det tank got 4 instant ranged disrupts and cap group movement rate? better question is how useless will thane, valewalker, and reaver be now? ^^

And how big is the advantage of higher dmg when always in cc ? There are many more classes with much higher grp utility then

Midgard players don´t just simply play Daoc - we play Daoc to riun the game for Alb and Hib

RvR is what happens while you are here complaining

All tlk about grp utiliy, i'm sick of that.

Why cant everyone have some fun in RvR with his favourite Class. Just pick up some ppl run out and have some fun.

The Community become more and more unfriendly for ppl who want to play their favourite class.

I love to play Friar, but try to get a grp in Alb ^^.

Jack, you can´t blame ppl for wanting to have a good setup. If you wanna play Friar so bad, search for ppl that wanna play with one and run with them instead of blaming those who do not want to waste a slot.

its not about wasting a slot. And i dont wanna blame anyone.

I just want to figure out, that more and more ppl forget the fun about the game and want everytime perfect setups. Instead picking a not so wanted class and do some runs.

Hard to explain for me in Eng what i want to say ^^.
