Hi & Happy New Year,

I have a respec coming up on a runemaster, and I was hoping to get some input on good specs for a group oriented RM.

I was looking at 50 suppression and wonder if this would be the best use for the class. Do supp rm's perform well in rvr with the weaker dd's? Do the snares interfere with anything?

Is 47d 26s preferred? Is this worth skipping the 48 debuff dd & 50aoe or is 50d 20s ok with green nearsight?

I don't have a particular preference other than NOT playing RC. I enjoy playing support, and would like to get the most enjoyment out of the runie that I can. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

There's 50 Darkness 20 Suppression. Top magic damage spell (also a 10% cold debuff nuke), 35% nearsight, and 11dps damage add (skalds wouldn't have to worry about damage chant and keep speed on for kiting support/casters?).

Or-

47 Darkness 26 Suppression. Your nuke and debuff nuke drop down one, but your nearsight goes up to 45% (almost cutting range in half), 9 dps dmg add is still better than skalds (I think skalds is 7dps), and you gain the first pbt. Not sure how well pbt would work in group rvr thought. This is the spec I solo'd/duo'd with on live and liked it.

I'd say go for top spec to maxamize casting damage on Uthgard? But I don't play a caster here. :P

47darkness 26supp IMO. Spec nuke with the highest delve on the server (wizards don't count) and the ability to debuff it for 10% on your own is simply too good to pass.
47 is the highest nuke, and only the debuff nuke drops but still debuffs for 10%. Blue PBT is worth more than 2dps in dmgadd and red debuff nuke since it debuffs for the same ammount.

Oh ya. Still keep top main dd, just drop 1 tier debuff.

Thanks for the help. Seems that everyone prefers Dark, I understand why, and that's probably where I'll spend my respec. I'm surprised that nobody has said much about suppression line, is it just not enough damage for rvr?

I LOL'd.

Mainly because I wasn't aware of many caster groups running. I assume that the better nearsight keeps the enemy casters closer while snare aoe helps keep tank train off healers? Does the dd snare interfere with melee snares? Is this a concern?

In the end, is this just another 'play what you like because it's the player, not the class discussions' ? Is there anything wrong with supp line to keep it out of groups? I think I'll try dark 20-40, with the intention to respec supp for career work.

Thanks again!

Guess it's the same as with root, so it should but it doesn't.

It's less damage and more support which is probably better for fixed groups when you can rely on others to deal most of the damage.
