Going to be mostly group rvr..but occasional late night solo..i do have a 4.2 large shield as well as a 2.8 small shield.

Was thinking Chest/Arms/Legs/Helm Abla, as well as shield, with gloves and boots being AF..since i have an af charge ring in my template.

Spirit DD on weapon so as not to break CC with a dumb dot proc..thoughts? Suggestions?

That's pretty much what you should do on tanks.
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> You have to be a c*** to be awesome at daoc
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> that's what I learnt
[3:11pm] <Frosty_> then why does austerim suck

The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

if you're using AF charge wouldn't MHB reactive be better? its much cheaper than using MHB charges and AF proc, since AF last 10 minutes and MHB only lasts one or two swings of a fight. having both is ideal. easiest way to keep both effects maxed out is 7x MHB on armor and shield, then a DD proc on weapon. keep a 10 minute AF charge on hand, i use my epic tunic on my skald and some random boots on my sb. u can save recharge money/bp by buying bulk af charges from an alchemist and an equal number of cheap crafted items. you can apply them with 1 alchemy skill so even if u dont train alchemy you can combine them yourself cheaply.

I would put Ablative reactif proc on my armor.

Ofc ablative don't stay for 10min in facts, anyway, running with abla + AF charge is a great utility mostly against NS/Inf, that will greatly lower the damge on PA/BS, and you'd still have a chance to proc another abla during the fight.

Anyway, running Abla + AF charge all the time will be kinda expensive as you'll probably use some other charge or barrel with.

well for a group warrior id do all armors ablas, buy a necklace with 10 AF charges, and as solo ill put a str/con debuff on gloves, and insta DD on boots, to rupt vs casters/achers/whatever... also ablatives on shields, but if you also run solo, a dot proc on the small shield wouldn't do any harm

yes quite so. very important is either gloves or boots with insta dd, rest ablas as grp warrior.

On shield i got a dd proc, weapons (and shield is a weapon) should deal dmg, and its fun to rupt an archer just by blocking his arrows sometimes.
