What is everyones opinion of Runemasters? I was thinking of making one after I finish my SB.
If I made one it would be for pure rvr purposes. Recommended skills? Templates? Tactics? |

Its all about positioning, pre kite, knowing when not to cast.
I would recommend playing suppression until you get good at avoiding charge/slam trains. Then when you feel comfortable on the class switch to dark. |

kite like you're wearing pajamas for armor... because you are.

Suppressions high power drain will be hard to support for a new low rr rm, it needs many power RAs. And snares will not help vs sos/charge tanks at inc, better to learn prekite. 47dark/26 sup is a better beginner spec. You do more damage and have a group damage add. Blue nearsight and power effecient blue pbt. (You also have blue con 35% snare nukes but they are situationally useful as a dark rm). Kite while you still have speed at start of incs. Let the warrior guard you and slam/backsnare enemy chargers when they are out of charge. You are dependent on good teamplay with a good warrior. Stay defensive and petclear, nearsight, root pets and nuke overextended slammed tanks. Use power barrel as often as you can while moving, save purge for nearsights mainly, debuff dex on enemy supporters. Thats just the tip of the iceberg of rm tactics, with experience you may hopefully learn more. Basic RAs should be, mcl1, rp1, purge1, ser2, lw1, mof1, dex3 then raise wp > mom > acu in that order. (wp and mom are more important than acu.) RM templates are cheap and easy, you can find some if you search the forums. |

Power RAs dont matter when you are dead. Supp can kite easier because their main tool is 2300 range red NS, and they will be running red PBT. Dark is going to need to close to within 1500 range of a target they are trying to kill (where as supp is going to focus more on a support roll), which means sustained casting (NS can be move into 2300 range, NS, move out), which is again, harder to pre kite with. The Dark nuke means nothing if you die trying to use it. |

Sounds like a playstyle issue to me, pushing into 1500 range of enemies to nuke at inc is just stupid no matter what spec you are. Position yourself well, use blue ns, kite and let the tanks come to you then kill them with the warrior. Blue ns is 45% instead of 65%, drains less power and is good for spam rupting. Its good enough compared to red ns. Blue pbt costs a lot less per pulse and every 10th sec instead of every 6th sec. Much more power effecient and still good enough. The group damage add helps the zerkers, skald and warrior do more dps. Should not be underestimated. In my opinion a dark rm combined with a troll dps warrior is the most sound choice to put dps pressure on extended tanks, no matter what RR the rm is. Like the famous Zubasa/Thisi combo. |

please, do try to keep up. |

Lets agree that we disagree. I would always recommend new rms to learn to play the class as cookie cutter dark spec for the reasons ive listed above in previous posts. |
|
If all the RMs I play with here didn't insta die on inc I would agree with you.
The trend for mid uth is to never kite, basically ever. and to make sure you drop your speed as quickly as possible with an offensive cast so that you can't kite even if you wanted. |
