I have rolled a warr and a thane, I getting either one to 50 to use as a pure pve machine. Df farm, raumarik n such. goal is to run with a shaman m8 and a zerk m8 and just farm easy coin loot n so forth. I rvr on shaman.

Im thinking that a thane has some nice RA's to pick from.

what u think? I probably wont hit way higher than 4l2 perhaps 4l5 with occasional roaming solo. but the goal is to cap thidranki and then just stay in pve.

Ideas?

I am not an expert but i think thane is better then war just in 2/3 men PvP, for the rest War wins

Well for solo PvE Thane wins - like all hybrid classes!

For group PvE well - prolly depends on the spec - with high block it shouldnt be worse than warrior.

But if you decide some day for pvping Warrior is prolly the better choice for group (while for Solo Thane still rock)

I would go for warrior over thane for that setup. Maybe, if it's only a duo thane might a tad bit better choice.

A little bonus is that you will have the chance to do some rvr with it even after thidranki.

It's not a really big difference for PvE. If you are absolutely sure that you don't want to use it for 8v8 RvR later then you can easily pick Thane. The little lower dmg table is more than compensated with insta-DDs, dmgadd and such.

Get 42 shield, weapon of your choice 39+, beyond that it depends on your preference and if you'd like to play solo also.
You might go 50 stormcalling and rest (6) parry if you want to play solo for best selfbuff, dmgadd etc.
If you always play with your shami you could as well drop stormcalling to 36 and go 50 weapon/16 parry, or you could raise shield to 50, parry to 22 for better defense.

low rr warr > low rr thane
8 points more shield makes a big difference, also with big shield you can block more targets at once and if you want to do some rvr to 4l5 or something then warrior will get a grp and thane wont
thanes are simply not welcome to rvr grps
