Hey everyone,

I used to play DAoC, and ever since hearing about the Camelot Unchained kickstarter I found out about Uthgard and want to give DAoC a try again. I've never played Midgard before, and as a result don't know much about the classes. I'm interested in being a healer, however I've read that they are the main CC class for Midgard as well. Which class is the "go-to" direct healer for Midgard? Is it a healer or shaman? Also, which spec for each? I'm mainly interested in healing in rvr and some raiding. Thanks in advance for your help!!

healer is main CCer and main heal class at same time, all depends on the spec...but wait for a mid player to give u more accurate info

Main healer in midgard is aug healer. You should help your paci healer with mezz and demez time to time but yes it's the most "go-to" direct heal class in game. Unlike cleric/druid you dont even have to shear, its shaman job. 40 aug / 36 mend works awesome for rvr, 44 aug / 31 mend is more useful for pve.

It really is not too complicated in Mid.

We have 'one' priority healer in every group, and that is the aug healer. It does have it drawbacks. Considering if you are able to lock down the aug healer in RvR. You then cut off 70%+ of all the healing for the entire group, and forces the pac healer to stop CC'ing/interrupting to make sure the group stays alive until the aug healer is free ones again.

The common specs for those two classes are these:
Pac healer: 38pac/33mend/19aug, 44pac/31mend/2aug, 36pac/40mend/2aug
Aug healer: 36aug/40mend/4pac, 44aug/31mend/4pac, 37aug/39mend/4pac
Shaman: 46aug/27cave/8mend, 42aug/31cave/13mend, 42aug/27cave/20mend, 34aug/41cave/7mend

From this you can see that a shaman will probably almost never use his heals because they are so bad. He will only do it if he must, if no healer is able to.

Skill path for a common Healer:
Code: Select all
lvl 1-5: all points into mending
lvl 5: /respec all (get hold of +mend items) 4mend/2aug/2pac
lvl 6: 5mend/2aug/2pac
lvl 7: 5mend/2aug/4pac
lvl 9: 6mend/5aug/4pac  (if solo or tasking, go for 5mend/8aug/4pac before mend++)
lvl 11: 8mend/5aug/4pac
lvl 13: 11mend/5aug/4pac
lvl 16: 14mend/5aug/4pac

lvl 20: /respec mending, 7mend/18aug/4pac
lvl 21-23: mend++
lvl 24: 14mend/18aug/4pac
(now you can go two ways, either 18 or 25 mend, depending on if you feel to have mana issues, or 26 aug for cele2)
lvl 26: 18mend/18aug/4pac
(lvl 30: 14mend/26aug/4pac)
lvl 33: 18mend/26aug/4pac
lvl 37: 25mend/26aug/4pac

lvl 40: final spec decision time
Common pac route:
lvl 40: /respec aug, 25mend/18aug/25pac
lvl 41: 25mend/18aug/27pac
lvl 44.5: 25mend/18aug/34pac
lvl 45.5: 25mend/18aug/36pac
lvl 47.5: 30mend/18aug/36pac
lvl 48: 31mend/18aug/36pac
lvl 49: 33mend/19aug/36pac
lvl 50: 33mend/19aug/38pac

Common aug route:
lvl 40: 25mend/30aug/4pac
lvl 41: 25mend/32aug/4pac
lvl 43: 30mend/32aug/4pac
lvl 44: 32mend/32aug/4pac
lvl 45: 33mend/33aug/4pac
lvl 47: 35mend/34aug/4pac
lvl 49.5: 40mend/34aug/4pac
lvl 50: 40mend/36aug/4pac

Going these routes should make you capable of solo healing with the backup of a full aug shaman(silly path to go, but very common).
