After 9 days of grinding out my first 50 in 15 years, I finally get done and temped around 8:00 EST. Brimming with excitement I put my kids to bed and set out for my first uthgard RvR experience.

I brought my toon into SF at around 8:30 EST, with still a decent number of folks on the server (around 1400 or so) I litterally spammed AS (Kite Squad), and broadcasted for over 2 hours. There was a good amount of traffic in, and out of SF. I even pm'ed a few people, and I did not recieve even one invite for any type of RvR. I briefly tried to start my own group as well with a friend of mine, and it led nowhere. It's now 11 EST, and I'm giving up to go play on my alt.

I thought Mid was better than this. People are incredibly elitist when it comes to RvR, and seem to have a friends only policy as well. This kind of attitude is going to kill the server, and I'm really disappointed to finally get to RvR, and see this stuff going on.

Sadly, the game has almost always been like that.
I have similar experiences from live, and i don't really have a solution to that.

Many good grps, so called elitist 8mans, would rather log out than lose once because they took someone else for replacement.
And i don't really blame them neither, i felt the same way sometimes. There are just too many baddies out, and people don't want to spend their time running around looking for a fight, just to then find out that the random they picked up sucks really hard.



imagine recent games, LOL, Dota, Battlefield, CallofDuty...what would happen if you could only join matches with a fullteam?
...that's basically what happens in DAoC when no Zergs are running around. Getting into 8man RvR is hard work, and almost impossible without setting up a regular group yourself over other means

as long as there is no reward for zerging like getting RPs for taking keeps its gonna stay like that sadly, and solo/small man aren't very populars too. nothing is done to make all kind of gameplay other than 8mans enjoyable because not 1.65. devs either don't understand its not 2003 anymore and players don't have the same mentality or they just don't care and want 8mans to be kings. but its gonna lead to casuals players leaving the server which is a really bad thing.

You're in Njord. They do a LOT of RvR. If your own guild mates don't want you in their groups, why do you think the other guilds in the alliance would be willing to have you? Just a guess on my part but as you just now dinged 50 and are trying to get your first RvR experience you probably dont have Determination 5? Most elite guilds wont take a zerker who isn't Det 5. You say, but... if nobody will group with me how am I ever going to get the RPs to get to Det 5? I recommend that you form some newbie RvR groups and work your way up.

Well yeah for 8v8 grps you need det5.
Appart from that uthgard needs a mechanism to advertise casual rvr. Like daily /weekly quests that give a capped amount of RP.

Try and build small man's and pugs during off hours, you can terrorize players in forest Sauvage and gorge until you have det 5.

So all running fgs were solo & smallmen until det5? XD

I wasn't looking specifically for an 8 man. I was down for any form of RvR other than walking out solo, and feeding the alb stealthers camped at SF. The only reason I sat there for 2 hours was for a first time RvR. If it continues like that I don't know what I'm going to do.

As an update, just as I was about to log after posting this last night, my buddy was able to merge with a few other casual RvRers, and we had some good small man fights. So at least it wasnt a total loss.

There are also Discord chats for every realm. Don't know the one of midgard, but in alb many ppl find grps like that.

I'm calling it quits at level 43. I'm probably only halfway to 50 in regards to grinding time left and being as I usually only have a couple of hours to play at a time it could take even longer. I don't have a set group to run with and if there's no zergs or casual RvR going on I'll waste 3/4 my time spamming lfg. It gets frustrating enough when people are particular about who they are inviting to XP groups let alone RvR. Nostalgia factor to about level 38 was a blast. Haven't enjoyed the server since.

you got your template finished and within 24 hours thats the amount of time it took for you to post this up here?

you have since been in many pugs, and seemed to have been enjoying your groups. I'm not sure why you haven't posted that...

I grouped with you last night... That was the first time I had even grouped with anyone in that group last night. It didn't feel elite to me and everyone in TS was nice (and hillarious). I will admit I do run with my guild a lot. This isn't an elite thing it's that we like playing with each other. Maybe find a guild that plays at your time? I'm EST for the record

EDIT: I'll admit i have seen a population hit lately I won't deny that.

Yeah it's been better since that one night. Met a few people, and more guildies have been on. But man, that +2 hour wait really tilted me. It's like your about to lose your virginity, and the girl (guy) wants to take a 2 hour nap first.

Yeah that was a nice bunch. Nobody was ****** about X did something wrong when we got wiped, and all in all had a good time.
