Hi

I want to start an SB as my alt character, and play with it in Aber so I can get some RPs, and some exercise. How would i spec it and which character and starting points would you choose?

thanks in advance for your help and inputs :)

There are many answers; depending on playstyle, are you going to auto train or not, etc but for the sake of answering your question-
-Make a Norse (weapon skill is dependent on strength)
-15 points into str (str is good)
-10 points wherever you feel like putting it (I like 15 str 10 con for a few more hp but as you like)

Assuming you're not going to auto train (as you are asking for BG spec) for a level 26 shadowblade in aber I would probably go something like:
20 stealth / 22 env (first str/con debuff) / 10 CS (backstab 2) / 20 sword/axe / 6 LA

Depending on your gear / + to skills you can play with the stealth/envenom if you like but you want 22 at least for that str/con or 27 if you can make it happen with + envenom.

Good luck and have fun looking for something to kill.

It's important to note that if you don't fully autotrain, you're permanently gimping yourself when it comes to being level 50. You lose out on those precious free points that SBs desperately need and there is no way to get them back. At rr8 fully autotrained and 5-spec, you will have 0 skill points left over. Food for thought when you're fighting a rr7+ infi who is running full charges/potions.

I have an autotrain sb in aber and had fun with him. If you plan to go that route I would run something like:

20 envenom (+6) items gives lvl 25 dot, lvl 26 disease, and 22 s/c debuff
18 sword
26 left axe

One thing to note that i found out after specing, you can't use poison above your level. So having a total of 27 envenom at lvl 26 is useless as poison is level restricted.

If you want to spec stealth i would suggest:

21 CS
15 axe/sword
20 stealth
16 venom
9 LA

If you are axe spec you can get mourning rage OTD...a 6.0 speed 2hand axe for perf.

Cheers

I also had an autotrain shadowblade in the BG's and had fun with them. You need to camp somewhere because you move sooo slow with low stealth. Sometimes if you are positioned wrong visible groups would see you through your crappy stealth and mow you down--annoying. However, if you were on the ball a NS or infy could never land perf on you and they might have thought you easy meat because they saw you so easily. I disabused them of that notion with my high combat spec and proceeded to tear them to pieces. Don't think I ever lost a one v one with a NS or infy in the BG's on my SB.
