Hello!

I started Uthgard about about six months ago and have been rolling around Hib as that is what I played for years after release. I feel my nostalgia has been satisfied for now and want to experience parts of DAoC I haven't before. Played on live ~3 or 4 years ago and did the Alb thing so to Mid I go!

Transfer completes on Friday night.

So here are my questions;

1. I've spent a grand total of about 3 hours logged into Midgard - any generic advice?

2. What classes are needed? I am not overly concerned about meta classes or being super desirable for groups (lvl & RvR), but I don't want to be discounted completely. I also enjoy all the play styles (caster/dps/heals/support).

2a. I am most interested in Thane, RM, or Shaman (cave), but completely open to suggestions. Bonemaster seems interesting but complicated. Other than those and your standard warrior I am not to familiar with classes.

3. Any mid sized guild recruiting? Large guilds are great, but I feel I fit better in the mid (pun intended) sized ones. I play on Central time and typically after 8PM for a few hours.

At the end of the day I would recommend playing what you want to most. Seer classes are always in high demand though not so much as cave spec for groups. (Outside of split spec for rvr)

You can play a class you like, the matter is, there is not plenty of variance in grp-setup in midgard - mainstream is running in same setup - like,

Sham/2 Helaers/Skald/RM/3 Bersis.

All other classes could be taken in rvr just by huge luck. Or total lac of players.

Long time to ask "Thane looking for RvR" was some kind of joke.

Its not like in Hibernia or even in Alb.

Interesting to know.

So after doing some trolling through the forms here and some other nooks of the interwebz I am leaning toward Thane or Bonedancer with Shaman still on the table. Runemaster also an interesting entry, but I was trying to stay away from them since they are a little to much like Eld/Wiz.

EDIT: And Bezerker is off the table. Played Blademaster and was one of the first to 50 on my server back in OG DAoC and can't take the thought of playing a zerk.

Getting really excited for playing Mid now that it starts tomorrow.

Will be fun to be in a realm where I know basically nothing.
