First of all I would like to point out that I am a noob to the whole game. I played a bit a couple of months ago, gave up (the grind here is terrible imo), but now I`m back.
My first and only toon so far was a Celt Blademaster.
When I was creating the char, I raised the following attributes by 10: strength, constitution, and quickness.
However from what I read pierce weapons are the way to go on a BM, so that is what I will prolly end up taking.
So, 2 questions: 1. is it terribly gimp that I didn`t raise dex at start?
Could that be offset by gear? ( I`m a total noob when it comes to gear, and the way it works in this game), 2. How does other types of BM`s (blade or blunt) work out in RvR? How bout solo? Should I just go with one of those specs?
And finally I have another question, I think I remember reading that each char gets a free respec at lvl 5 (mine is way past that), and at another level (50?). Is it so, or did I just imagined reading that? :)

Can't give you tips on BMs since i only play on Mid, so I don't know the class very well.

Raising qui at start is imo almost ever a stupid thing to do, since u will probably cap ur attackspeed with a decent temp at high-lvl.

You get respecs at lvl5 (full respec = all speclines), lvl20 (single-line = one specline u specify [blunt for example]) and lvl40 (single-line)

Edit: Even if u haven't got spent points on dex at start it won't kill your game if u play skillful (and even if u don't^^). If you feel you want to maximise in all technical issues then you can buy or win a stat-respecstone later on.

Piercing is good in groups mostly cause you will always hit with damage bonus on enemies support classes (healer/shaman/cleric). Imo it doesn't matter you didn't set dex in points, you will maybe have 15 weaponskill less which will make no noticeable difference.

Raising qui at start is imo almost ever a stupid thing to do, since u will probably cap ur attackspeed with a decent temp at high-lvl.

We are not on mid, there is no cele for bm ^^
I am assuming direct control.

Your startstats dont matter much, so go with whatever you want....
10 str are aproximately 2% dmg, 10 con are aproximately 44 more hitpoints, 10 dex are 1% better block/parry chance and 10str+10dex = 2% more dmg for pierceweapons, and last but not least 10 qui are aproximately 2% primary combatspeed.

Going blunt baldes and pierce doesnt really matter that much... Just take a look at dmgtables. With blades your always neutral to albs but -to mid heavies but +to mid lights, with blunt youre always neutral to mids but -to alb heavy but +to alb lights, and with pierce youre +vs mid heavy and vs albheavy, but -vs mid light and alb light. Ofc im talking about armortypes and plate functions like alb light instead of alb heavy.

Ok, I have another similar question, so I might as well ask it here.
Where to put starting points on a Firbolg Warden?
I thought 10 str, 10 con and 10 dex (still nice for extra parry etc.), or should I ditch dex and put those ten points into empathy?

na go with str con dex.

emp only if you go for a healwarden, then drop the str.

not that it would make much difference.

Never saw such a good use of a short clip over words, it says SO much more and is more to the point than anything u could have ever wrote. Awesome, tbh I even giggled IRL ;-)

wild healing 5 and mastery of healing 3 if you want to push it to the extreme.

you wont have any points to spare on that, but well...
