Hello everyone!
I played DAoC a long time ago on the competitive RvR stage. Due to time restraints of college, work and girlfriend I was no longer able to RvR with a set group and stopped playing DAoC all together (getting zerged soloing isn't that much fun). Well, I am seeking nostalgia now and I've known and played on Uthgard from time to time just to get a little fix. Now I'm over the 8v8 scene, there simply isn't time after high school for that, and I'm leveling up a Mentalist for good times. I'll see you all around, look for Sarer if you want a Mana Mentalist leveling up. I figure I'm a few weeks from 50 with casual play. Damn underpopulated Hiblets. |

The rolling of a Mentalist will help me tremendously through the leveling grind. Will I benefit at 50 in RvR? Yes! I remember my friend who was a Matter Cabalist for a while back in old Emain and he would DoT groups of people and get a kill or two before they got to him... lol good times. Light is definitely the better choice though, lol.

I'm finding Mana Ments are not very good for PvP even on Uthgard, not as horrible as live but not the mass killing machines of 2001/2. I do kill a lot of people after I'm dead though. If they added the DoT changes on live DoT's would be much more effective but that's post 1.80.
However, it's a decent class for levelling if you can find a Chanter/Druid duo. Solo can be very tedious unless you've had a lot of experience playing a Mana Ment. Once you get to the mid 30's you can do the pseudo Chanter thing, only problem is that many of camps I used on live don't seem to exist here. |
