Hi,
which piercing weopons do use and why? (as a dual-wielder.) 3,9/3.3 or 3.9/2.4 My thought: From 3.9/2.4 i got the best possible "haste" effect (when swingin both weapons). so i can reaply my poison faster and have a higher chance of weapon procs. So in Theorie 3.9/2.4 sounds great but it am still lil bit unsure so some adive would be nice. thank you very much. here a weap speed calculator: http://www.daocmaps.com/weapon-speed-calculator edit: 1 more question: Do you think swinging weopons with cap speed helps to avoid enemys reactionary style? example: My enemy evades. Before he can land an evade style i hit him again (cause i am swinging faster then he does) -> he fails his evade style |

That problem is not trivial. Looking forward to all the wrong answers. |

If u are using haste potions go for 3.9/3.3 if not 3.9/2.4.
With haste u will go below cap when u double hit and therefor loose dmg asuming u hiting 250 qui. Dont know what class/race u are so post that and its easier to calculate what weapons that suits u best |

@Jarysa
that sound like you know the answer. it woul be nice if u give me a hint ![]() @jonah i am a elf/nightshae no quick on creation. so i got 98 base + 75 from items + 30(?) from dex/quick barrel + 13 haste (barrel). (maybe i will run dex/quick charge sometimes. but i guess this will be to expensive in the long run) so that is: 203 quick + 13 haste. if the calculator is right i get with 3.9/2.4 1.92dual wield swing speed. with 3.9/3.3 i get 2.20 wield swing speed. so i guess i will start with 3.9/2.4 maybe it would make sense to go 3.3/2.4 (1.71s not capped put pretty fast) sounds nice for reaplying viper3 poison as well (thats 120 extra damage with every main hand swing .....sounds great) anyone got a hint about my reactionary question? |

I´m not excatly sure. As i´ve said .. it´s not as easy as it appears on first sight. I´d go with: If you are swinging slower then your opponent: Yes, because he will get less chances to get 2 chances to use reactionaries of the same defensive action. If you are allready swinging faster then your opponent: No, even if he evades and you attack him again before he can swing, he will have the same chance to evade that swing. It will help yourself do reactionaries, tho (reason above). |

thanks for the reply :o) i didnt understand it this sentence from "If you are swinging slower then your opponent: Yes, because he will get less chances to get 2 chances to use reactionaries of the same defensive action." example i am hitting slower then my opponent i hit him he lets say blocks my attack. lets assume my attachspeed is 4seconds and his attack speed 1,8 seconds. so he can use his after block style 2 times. is this assumption false? any help is welcome. i love learn more theorycraft about daoc :) |

that´s what i mean. |

Yes and no. On the one side you can "cancel" his reactionary by hitting him again but on the other side you can help him doing this. When you hit your first strike and the 2nd got evaded he can do his reactionary. I wouldn't really consider this question when choosing your weapon. Important facts are: - Slow "Base"Speed and fast effective Speed is best. - Don't loose damage while going mathematically under the cap of 1.5 Uthgard till 2003!
