I just wanted to thank all the hibs that didn't gray gank me last night. So I'm new to Uthgard but played Live for years off and on. I remember the old days when players as a majority respected each other. Much of Live has lost that, not completely but not like it was. Last night I was reminded me of one reason I loved daoc in the early days.
So I'm a young skald soloing plated(s) late last night PST. I've been in DF a few times and each time I got rolled after the second kill. :) No worries, I expect it. It's an RvR zone after all. So when I see a broadcast a shade is coming up I assume I'll be taking the death-express back to Jord and I'm ok with that. To my surprise I see the shade walk by and never even give me a second look. He apparently left several gray players alone looking for bigger fish. So I think, "hey, that's a nice guy/gal". A little while later a shar ranger runs by, also doesn't destroy me. So I'm thinking, "wow, my lucky day to find two nice players". So you can imagine my surprise when a VW and Bard fly by just a little while later, wave at me and continue on. By this time I'm just flat out stunned. I haven't seen this type of respect for other players in years. I just wanted to say thanks for restoring my faith in daoc and it's great people. I have indeed found a home.

PS: /respect to Eliminator(vw) from The Covenant guild. You and your bard buddy were very kind as were the other hibs. I was only able to tag you.

/hugz!

The other day I was blasting a few plated on my 28 eldritch, and an infiltrator hits me, just to interrupt me, after which the plated fiends kills me for XP-death.

Really classy... but apart from that, I've got nothing but roses for enemies, even whole groups roam around, leaving greys alone.

I didn't loose any xp though, had just leveled, but I still will remember the name of that infil. I have my first hated enemy! :hammer:

Oh I have a list as well! I can accept gray ganking as it is part of the danger/benefit of XPing in an RvR zone. However going out of your way to cause a enemy to suffer an XP death just shows you people from WoW do play here.

Oh yes I did!

/em updates his kos list

I'm glad to hear that :) I prefer not gray ganking because A) its worth nothing and B) I lose my camo. I have killed only a handful of grays and 90% of them have been because they healed a guy I was fighting or tried to add on my fight. I did accidently kill 3 or 4 grays when I sat in front of them and was going to let them kill me. My reactive dot procs went off and killed em. I felt bad, but couldnt help but laugh at that tho. One of the guys in our guild once waited 20 minutes while watching a lvl 35 level his toon to 36 just so he could kill him for rp's :)

Sitting and waiting for someone to level is kinda funny heh. I tend to kill grey animists but leave mostly everything else and if we are in a group we just avoid greys altogether.

The real question is why do stealthers roam in groups of 5 in DF lol.

I played live several years back, and never understood the outcries of people killing greys, RvR-zone... 8O
I usually left greys alone myself, but understood people killing them.

But purposely trying to get people xp-deaths I never understood.

I remember once in DF, when my sm was lvl 35, I was in a group where we killed... forgot the mob name, but an infil attacked us.
He left me alone, which was a HUGE mistake, as a PBAOE sm, even at lvl 35, apparently could/can rip a lvl 50 apart, if he's left unchecked. When he finally understood, he was at 10% health, and although he killed me, he also died and our healer could rez us all.

That was a fun moment

i quite regularly wander about in DF (when mids get round to getting it back again during prime time) going up hib and alb side, and i never kill greys unless they are stupid enough to attack me.

the last grey hib who did attack me just got a mez and a wave though :P

I also think its very rare for stealthers to run in groups of 5 in df as most of them are hanging around in Mid cook room picking off the lvl 36 ppl and avoiding the lvl 50's.
