Just curious about Bow degradation. Does it happen every time you fire your Bow or does it degrade as you are hit by mobs??

The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

Good question.

On live when I played there, it was as you used the item, so each time you fire, it would degrade, I just don't remember the percentage.

I've wondered the same thing about jewelry and accesories. How do you degrade bracers/rings/necklaces/cloaks/belts when they dont ever hit or get hit by anything. I could see it maybe as you used an item it could cause condition loss. Also, in response to the original poster, bow lost condition whether you hit or not with the bow. If you were pulling back and releasing an arrow it would effect condition just as it does right now. Once you repair the condition is how you lose durability.

One more quick question to Blue. If and when we implement item degradation to be live like, is there any chance one could transfer effect or reskins to new pieces of armor or weapons once that item lost all of its durability? Would suck to spend 80-100p for a reskin or effect only to lose it in a year or 2.

For normal melee weapons I can clearly say that misses don't degrade weapons.

The degradation of other items is done by a percentual hit chance.

The reskins won't transfer to new items but we rethink the whole reskin concept. GM's shouldnt be required for reskins and skins should be clear before its bought. Just make sure you don't go with your most expensive suit into PvE.

I wouldn't overestimate the degradation of MP100 items. I think they will last longer than you expect. In tests I saw about 2300-2500 hits for 1% condition loss. Thats quite a lot. If you assume that a MP100 weapon has 130% durability a weapon of that type will have a lifetime of 299.000 hits (ignoring the 1% dura loss per repair). Misses don't count for degradation. To extend that further imagine you have 100% hitrate and hit your target nonstop, you could do that for 249 hours with 3s swings until your weapon degrades into dust. Quite a bit.

Sure thing, I remember on live I had a PvE suit and a PvP suit. I did the same thing here when I got started till somebody pointed out that here as long as a player crafter repairs you will not go beyond 99 durability. The miss not causing loss on weapons is nice.

I know it will take awhile on MP items to degrade, but still, when effect scrolls are 1200 uthalis and you put one on an item you hope it will last forever :) You say, "The reskins won't transfer to new items but we rethink the whole reskin concept" what exactly do you mean you are rethinking the whole concept?

I edited my post.

Ideas for revamped reskin system is more that you have a showroom of item skins and you can choose from that and buy a specific reskin pattern from a merchant for some token which you then apply like dye onto the item you wish to reskin.

Here is another question. I have noticed that using Purple items don't really affect your damage very much. ie. I crafted myself some bows and an orange bow actually does more damage than a purple bow. What is the highest con weapon to use before you see dimishing returns?

Cheers.

Interesting idea for sure. This way GM's arent having to waste time putting on scrolls. Just one suggestion if I could, maybe put a preview window on so people dont take an effect or reskin that doesnt quite fit. For example, I had a glowy effect put on a piercer and my original choice was the black glowy effect, however it only went half way up the blade so I had to change. Abydos was nice enough (ty again Abydos) to help me pick one that I liked and fit on the blade properly.
