I've read alot of posts from this forum about the state of the Animist. I'm having a little trouble thinking which is the best spec to finish leveling and at 50.

Currently I'm 7 Arb 36 Creep.

I'm thinking that at 50 and RR4 that will be modified 50 creep when templated. The only useful things going beyond 36 are last controllable pet and last aoe root unless there is a benefit of going beyond 50, I don't remember anymore.

That means I can go to 40 arb or 40 verd. Given it'll be mainly pve I thinking verd for the various buffs (abs, bt, ablative) and the option of a tank pet (I know pbaoe is broke).

My question then is; Is it worth it at 50 and if so what about leveling from 40 to 50?

How do the best pve Animists spec here?

50creep rest arb or even spec between the two. No purpose going verd for anything. Ablative sux, aoe bubble is bugged, bugged combat timers, and pet aoe is gimped becausr int is not factored in. Stay creep and arb for pulling purposes.

For PvE, I don't know if a spec is better than another. I remember on live, I knew an animist lvl 50 who was spec 1 arb, 1 verd, 1 creep, as he didn't know what line he prefered :P And he had no problem ^^ (Animists are OP :P)
By the way, your line spell are almost enough to play an animist, so spec it like you want. I would advice to go arb for some points to get tangler, dd, but it's my opinion ^^

My animist is 50 arb for the occational pvp fun (BGs were very nice though tough in some situations), rest creep for slightly reduced turret mana cost. I like it that way. As Fabu said, most class/farm defining stuff is in the baselines, so you can't really screw your animist for farming purpose.

Thanks, I'm now thinking 36 creep, 40 arb if verd is really that broken.

At least it'll give me some more nuke power for wilton and thid.

I'm 40.5 now, I'll have to have a look and see tonight if it's worth the next couple of levels specwise before wilton or just dive in now for the xp.

I have a 50 verdant. Yes, the combat timers are bugged and ablative is questionable, and there some other problems with it, but I still enjoy the pet pbaoe the best. I can set it up with some other pets on it to pull things to it, and basically annihilate a room full of blues/yellows/greens in no time and with almost ZERO risk. Perfect character to play in the off-hours when the server is empty. This spec will be lots better for PvE when SI is released here too, there are lots of camps in SI perfectly suited to this playstyle.

Additional thought, Animist has been improved almost 1000% since I started playing here 4 years ago. So (patiently) expect many of the bugs to evaporate at some point. Contrary to popular belief the staff really does work on this game and improves it considerably and often (I love you staff!).

Play an arbo animist in rvr works and worth it :)
I did a test with a nice animist and it was just awesome :D
