Are they forced to go light? why would 46 mana 28 menta not be a viable spec?

Cause the sole reason to grp a mentalist is that it can nuke for a lot of damage when grped with an enchanter, and dots are not viable outside of Zergfights.

Since hib groups rarely run enchanters nowadays (excluding the pro groups ofc) mana ments on paper can function in groups. Aoe dot for pet clear, hot cherging tanks and backup for healers. Right off the bat you are going to need wild power 4 to get some oomph on yer dots, and then really work on double dotting, preferably soft targets. Whereas mana has plenty of things to do to be effective, light is just gungho all out damage. No fancy stuff, just pet clear send the charm pet and nuke nuke nuke. Its what most groups prefer and req a lot less work.


but ofc ments dont get rvr groups anyways. :D

I figured i'd end up getting to 4L2 in thid and no love after that but from what I can tell my build there brings a demezz, a strong single mezz, strongest hot, best mana regen, a good heal to back up others in need. I think it's a lot of utility but im pretty sure it's no easy play since squishies die fast and of course bards/druids will probably be better off than me lol still its something I really would like to try out.

Well thats obvious, in fact I have one in the works and he tanks reds all day, if I feel like it but ojs are better for speed. :P

demezz, cast speed heals, pet, mezz ....
i think light mentalist grouped for utility and not for just nukunukenukenuekget2shottedbyazerker isnt too bad.
but people run more tank/hybrid groups with warden which is maybe more stable to play.

sorry, but i think your daoc doesnt even work on paper oO

Menta is not wanted much in RvR. I tried light/ment menta,but I spent tons of time by useless spamming /lfg channel for RvR grp.I got invited to few PUGs,but very rarely. I gived up,bought respec stone,respecced to mana/light and now using my menta only for PvE actions.

Honestly when I see someone get dotted in my group, I don't even cure him, it's on my quickbar but I prefer to have him CC immune than to remove the negligible damage it does.

mythic / or those ea bastards recognized those problems with dots and reduced the time between two ticks significant, that the dot does more DPS but runs out faster ofc
