You will certainly not be able to. Don't worry about the others though

Not having to go through a milegate to reach the middle and having two entry ways while also being able to scout the amg valley situation coming from a high ground can be a big advantage in the early stages with large rvr pop.

Having all group members alert and not tabbed throughout the journey is a completely different problem. :D

PLUS : you will not risk that someone didn't make it in time even for the 30s delayed second port, forcing your whole group to wait another 15 minutes at the PK.
Can't tell you how many times you could have seen groups waiting there at the PK, chatting, afk, watching tubes, all because one of their members didn't port with them

Though it's probably easier to walk solo from PK to MG at busy hours, since the way towards the MG is usually "save". I remember walking to AMG with my Theurg or Cleric often and look for a group at the front. At PK everyone wanted to leave in the "perfect setup", but on the battlefield they were more tolerant to "fill" the group. ^-^ Also the fact groups come in at port intervals it's more likely for several groups to leave at once instead of running as a single group ahead.

So bottom line is: Both has it's advantages and disadvantages.
