What are your thoughts on a Void Eldritch? I recall playing one briefly and though they were pretty good at solo leveling with the two bolts but also brought something to the group. From playing around with a fire wiz in beta it seems bolts work pretty well in RvR as well on Uth2.0

Looks like it would be good for keep taking/defense and you could secondary spec to get nearsight, AE disease, AE mezz, and ae dmg/snare (albeit lower levels of the spell but maybe still some utility?)

Very strong in keep fights, but less so in open rvr. You need some amount of light for NS, but where you draw that line is subjective.

void eld should be great but the dmg of pure nukers is currently less then it should be in RVR

it will take time + patches to fix it

they have the best ground aoe's tho for leeching rps and in zerg vs zerg you will get LOTS of points and level quick

on the downside you die in one hit to a savage

If you are talking about 8man: Void at this patch level is something that needs to be high RR to work in open field. Think rr8+. You can one shot low RR people, 4 and under, and two shot higher RR due to your crits.

Problem is, once you blow your load, if the target isn't dead you're kind of useless compared to a light eld for the next 20s. Plus, the only reason to truly run with a eld in 8man is for the NS. which can single handled turn the tide.

If your are talking about just for the fun: Go for it. Void eld defending a sieged keep is fun as hell.

I'd love to see a Void Eld at work with a competent Animist in group.

My void eld was a lot of fun and very powerful in keep sieges and crazy powerful in keep defense. A void eld can single handedly stop a keep siege. Double bolts on any enemy caster have a good chance to kill them. The main bolt (Bolt of Uncreation) (best spell name ever) can crit and kill some caster targets by itself. Also peek out and catch groups along the wall with ae dd and you will have a lot of kill spam.

While Light is a better open field and 8v8 spec because of red NS and ae mezz.... As a void eld with red void spells you can still secondary spec light for blue NS and ae mezz. So you still have the tools to stop any enemy caster and land a good enough ae mezz that lets you get away or drop a few targets before they come out of it as long as they are not det 5 tanks. The blue ae mezz will save you from stealth.

I would defently go void eld but I told my self this time around I wouldn't be a caster.
