I too will be rerolling from Mid to Hib today, most likely playing a caster or a bard undecided as yet.

As strange as it sounds I'm finding leveling a bit difficult on mid due to the large population in that whilst I can get a group within about 60 seconds of logging on, all decent spots are already camped and people will just drop a group in an instant knowing they can get another, even after wasting a fair amount of time on just deciding where to go.

My main priority will be to level my toon and find a guild of people with an equal mindset, nothing too casual or serious just a good group of lads and ladies to play with. Any recommendations would be appreciated. :)

I am rerolling on Hib too, not sure if just as a tourist or permanently.
When pop invited Albs on Hib i said dude that does not make sense... and now im here.
I guess he was right. :-P

Now, considering this is a melee patch, tanks are going to be unCCable, etc... wouldnt a MANA eld be better than a LIGHT eld?
Im thinking that against mids the red aoe disease + snare DD would be better than red NS.
Thoughts?

Whats more needed between and Eld and a Hero?

Why Lurikeens are walking like they have a stick in their ... ?

Can't go wrong with either hero or eld. Eld will be an easier 1st char as long as u go mana for grping - gives u pbaoe for all the FP'ing going on. Not sure how grps r from 5 to 20 but going void and solo tasking those lvls is an option, but u def want to respec to mana at 20 and stay that way till 50. That's basically the route i've taken (minus the void tasking part - grped at launch) and am getting ready to start lvling the hero with actual gear.

[Edit] Forgot most important part: can't explain or tolerate male luri run.
Evinak - Eldritch
Evinac - Hero

Hey Yall, waiting in que now lol. Coming home to vanilla Hibernia for me. If I do run a bard, which I did in Vanilla... what are the chances I will get a guild? A group for leveling? etc? I mean I can rock it old school and just respec at 50 and run the melee solo spec for leveling, but I am concerned about pushing for a bard and taking 9 months to get one to 50 soloing again. Not looking for a PL, in fact in beta I noticed it is very old school vanilla and Im not sure PLing is even possible, but want to know what to expect if I start out with a bard?

Bards are definitely in need in the realm. Finding a guild really shouldn't be a problem. I know my guild, Blood Feud, is actively looking for new bards and I would imagine that other guilds in the realm are looking as well. You should really not have a problem at all going this route.
<Blood Feud>
Druid - Bubbler
Hero - Cramit
Enchanter - Rounder
Bard - Melody
BladeMaster - Crunch
Mentalist - Dottie

Bard are a must have in every group, especially in tank group. You'll have no prob finding a group

Maybe a silly question but how's the que during EU prime time?
Im currently playing mid ,just dinged 20 (i know im slow) but have limited time, i can't remember que ever being below 1k ,usually i give up around 10pm and go get ready for bed.
Is it any better in hib?

One more subquestion,i prefer to play melee classes ,i read the discussion on hero's/bm and was wondering do you think that lvling NS for the 1st toon would be pure masochism?

The queue is the same on every realm. I start the queue at 6 pm to get in around 10 pm.

Regarding leveling an NS... uhm... yes it would be pure masochism.
