Anybody familiar with or have this weapon? Back in the day (which was a Wednesday) this weapon proc'ed a LOT. It did below average damage of course due to low quality, but it added to a ranger/NS's survivability. However, would this still be the case today on Uthgard? Would it be worth working it into a template? or would it be good to just have on hand in certain situations to switch to?

Also, is there a blades version out there?

afaik
this dagger drops
this dagger procs

proc chance is allways the same : slooooow weapon = more procs/per hits ; fast weapon = less procs/per hits

this means, regardless how many swings they do, both should have the same amount proc/time

full bt proc armor? not craftable, not droppable. dont fool others please

This weapon does work just fine here. I had one and dumped 2 quality increase scrolls on it then decided to sell it and go with an offhand lifetap piercer instead. They work fine, and also look cool as hell with the black glowy effect!!

Where do you get the quality increase scrolls? That would really make this weapon more desirable to me then.

LOL, well they may have reduced the price on them, but they were 1250 Uthalis a piece. I put 2 on the Dagger of Soulshade, and I put 2 on my 94 quality off-hand lifetap piercer. I still use the offhand lifetap piercer, the Dagger of Soulshade I sold. The quality increase scrolls used to only by 375 uthalis, but I think when the GM's saw what I was doing with them they decided to raise the price. :) I was trying to turn the 94 quality weapon into a MP weapon, but at 1250 uthalis a piece that was just not going to be possible.

Dagger of Soulshade is also only 16.2 DPS and not 16.5 so you're losing out a bit.

[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> that's what I learnt
[3:11pm] <Frosty_> then why does austerim suck

The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

Aye, which is what made me go with the offhand lifetap piercer instead, since it is 16.5 dps.

you have a source for this ?
as far as i know, proc chance is always 10%.

why?
backside of a hit is the (same) chance for the reactive armor proc of your opponent,
faster weapon = more weapon procs, but more reactive procs too.

I have heard the same about what Magicoo posted but I have never personally tested it and it would be super hard to test anyways since you are dealing with small %'s. I had heard that on live as well and it makes sense since you hit alot less with slower weapons. Either way, overall you have about the same chance for it to go off in any fight over the long haul. I prefer fast weaopns mainly due to the fact that it makes it much harder for a person i'm fighting to get reactionary styles off AND in turn increases my chances of getting said reactionarys off.
