dmg modifier for pierce is (str+dex)/2. celt has only 2,5 more dmg modifier than elf but elf has 15 more qui and 15 more dex than celt. Obviously more dmg per second for pierce spec, and more evade/parry against slam.

Const is important for offtanks, plus you will almost hit the swingspeed cap with 10 Start quick, a 2.4 offhand and buffed haste + d/q as celt

no he wont, he ll ve a swingspeed of 1.75 aprox. with a double hit, elf at 1.67

I might have underlined almost

Even if you can hit swing speed cap with celt, you can do the same with slower off-hand with elf. Also I don't think 88 hp makes a difference for melee dps. If it does you can have thoughness 2 for 75 hp. celt needs aug qui3 to reach elf. :) Anyway I would still go for higher evade/parry/block instead of 88 hp. Having red pbt all the time makes bm the most annoying off-tank. Whenever I play pally or warrior and try to slam one, I always end up something like 'miss, parry, miss, evade, evade, miss, I'm stunned.

That's not the closest choice :P let me try again. aug qui3 celt vs thougness3 elf. With same RA cost, elf has 62 more hp, celt has 2 more qui. I'm not telling celt is bad, still think firb+slash is best. Just told 'I don't get it when ppl suggest celt for pierce and laugh about elf.' There is a common idea in hib that elf is realy bad but celt works awsome. Just wanted to say that's supersticious.

That's true, and the reason is that people never considered an elf BM on live since quick was irellevant with 101 possible quick through items, toa haste etc. and slash just had the better weapons for bms, so no one was going for pierce.

Anyway, picking an Elf BM denies the option of going splitspec or even shield + split at higher rr's because your str is trash (Yes it's worth it)
Also Slash or Crush is much better for leveling unless you're only leveling spellcrafted and buffed. (pierce bms have to cap 2 stats for max. dmg)
last but not least : Celt just looks better ^^

and : Slash is definitely the worst for RvR (You'll mostly be hitting sorc/theurgist versus albs and healers/casters vs mids most of the time)

The only benefit that slash would bring is if you're planning to kill the enemy offtanks (zerkers, most likely)
