What is the best ranger blades weapons?
This question arise, when i saw ranger with 2 sickles(2.9 sec). ![]() I think to take in rh Fortified Long Sword(3.3 sec) and lh Exceptional Short Sword(2.5 sec). If it is attempt to win in speed, it is possible to take a short sword in both hand, since sickles and short swords are left-handed. What you will advise with blades, skilled rangers? |

As long as you use dot procs it's just a matter of preference.
Try out with which ones you can side stun the best, it's all about timing ;P Ps: Theoretically slow main hand and fast offhand gives you slightly higher dps. I don't think there is any skilled ranger, didn't we reroll stealth due to a lack of it ![]() ![]() <<< This avatar is handmade by Inotor Wurzelbert : ) Check out the Mampfer-Threads for more. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=25079 viewtopic.php?f=10&t=26934 |

Yes low stealth sucks, especially if you enjoy sneaking around dungeons (DF, marf, etc...). You'd be surprised.

Hi WW ![]() On my full melee ranger i have 44 stealth from 3L2 and never had problems inside dungeons (except for the big purple at the end of the albion slope). On Uthgard 1.0:
Totenpfeil <Ranger> - Vlath <Hunter> - Toten <Eldritch> - Totentanz <Skald> On Uthgard 2.0: Totenzweig <Druid> - Totentanz <Skald> |

Ah yes ^ I wouldn't say it's impossible to sneak around with less stealth - but I like to push my luck and get as close as possible to mobs when sneaking. I was 45 stealth when I respec'd and I could tell a significant difference
![]() All about your playstyle - to tell you the truth it really doesn't matter what everyone says on this forum, you're eventually going to just say screw it and try it yourself. It is the best way to learn what you like ![]() Cheers,

What about not speccing in Path at all? Just use pots and items like everyone else?
You could fully spec in weapons, bow and stealth. |
|
since then u ll ve to use pots and charges like everyone else
![]() beeing better charged >> spec |

Bump since I changed title on this.

The issue here is weather higher buffs is worth the loss of spec. i.e lower melee so much that allows you to go 48PF or more even
Iam a lurikeen. which makes me cap qui with yellow d/q buff and can even put less in my temp. red d/q would give me about 12-13 more dex and qui. the qui is useless for me and the dex for bow is mediocre at best for a lurikeen. It all comes down to race+pf imo. Im gonna try 35 Stealth 40 CD 42 PF 35 Pierce 12 Bow (AT) I wonder tho if the higher D/A and spec dex makes melee spec better or worse. |

50 bow 48 pf cap stealth and shoot everything !

Thank you for a great post. Helped me a lot since i never played a stealther before.
I have one questions though. What about items? My ranger is now closing in on level 50 and I already have a 99% template which has capped everything. Whats the next step when wanting to upgrade your template? Should I save all my money towards getting a femur for s/c charge or should i spend it on weapons/armor? Seems like a jungle to me which weapons are actually worth it. Is it for example worth getting the Basalt rapier which has a lifesteal proc but then it is too fast? Or should i just buy armor such as adamantine barrier for the procs? Or ? or ? or ? Got some plats but really got no idea where to spend it. Hope someone can help ![]() (going hybrid spec) Ancilla Domini - Druid - RR8

Hey Bach, very good questions that are somwhat difficult to say for sure. Here is what I can tell you that you will need to be able to perform consistantly as a solo at AMG. You will need some form of a s/c charge with an akars barrier at minimum or a stag femur on the high end, you will need a 150 albalative charge which I prefer using the fiosrach sgath bracer since its on a 2 minute timer, then you will need to have a haste charge (crafted or bracer of winds) or potion depending on which you prefer. After that I would say you need a dex potion for sure, and maybe even a fortitude potion. I also use a debuff on my crafted bow. That takes care of all your charges from items that you will need. You will only need an alchemist up to around 600 to be able to make 14% haste, dex, and con potions. This only takes about 3 hours and costs maybe 400g. Even if you need to make a lvl 1 toon this is a must for me. The hard part is keeping space to store all the potions. You must have a house, house vault (if not 2 if you can afford it), and even a consignment merchant for a little extra space.
For weapons, I use the basalt rapier and I love it. I also use the leth bhreac stilleto (sp?) that is the only off hand usable life tap piercer on Hib. The only problem with that piercer is that it is a 92 quality item so you will lose out a little bit on dmg, but I love me some duel lifetap. Crafted with dot charges also works well. As I mentioned above I use a crafted bow since it makes the template easier to complete and with procs on bow's not being implemented on this server you are much better served by putting a str/con or dex/qui debuff on your bow. If you really want a high end template I would recommend going with Adamantine Barrier as your chest piece for the heal proc, and even using the SH sleeves for their heal proc as well. Other than that just use whatever fits in the template. When I was doing what you are going through right now I also made a max'd cheap template that didnt have all the bells and whistles on my ranger. I used that to farm, do RvR, and go on raids and saved up and went on as many raids as I could to get my good template. I then got a good template with all the charges and stuff I wanted. I then decided to switch it up a tad so I could go with duel wield lifetaps. So I have done 3 different templates on my ranger. The key is having a good raid class, which it looks like you do with the Druid. If you have a decent template allready use that to do RvR on your ranger while you do whatever you can to get that druid on Prince raids for Basalt pierce, Taj2 raids for Adamantine Barrier and other nice template items, and Glimmer Prince raids (not dragon) so you can get the 150 Albalative charge on 2 minute timer. If you cant find anyone for those raids and you find the RvR action is either to much or to little for your ranger than take the ranger down to Warshades and farm them for some extra plats to help you out on the new template. That is almost spot on exactly what I did with my ranger/bard/bm. Bard/BM were asking for raids on things I needed, RvR'd on the ranger, if RvR got to zergy or to slow I would get 800 arrows and a few tinders and make 1-2p an hour farming warshades. |

Thanks for the great reply
![]() Don't think I ever killed the Glimmer prince or at least cant remember it. How much does it take to kill him? And does he drop anything else worth while to get people to kill him? Ancilla Domini - Druid - RR8

He drops remains which people like, he drops the 150 albalative proc bracer, and he also drops the off hand usable life tap piercer, but its only 92 quality and can usually be bought for between 500g-1p on housing. You used to be able to fight him no problem with a duo. They changed some of his mechanics and I've heard it can still be done with a duo, but I have no idea how. The last time I fought him since the change we had about 6 of us there farming and we just killed all the mobs around him then pulled him after most were clear.
